Digital camera reviews of Monster MC 1000HD-2M Ultra-High Speed HDTV HDMI Cable (2 meters)Digital camera Review: Buy a nicer TV instead of this cable! Summary: 1 Stars
There's no discernible difference between this cable and a generic $10 HDMI cable I tried (purchased elsewhere), so this one got returned. Do yourself a favor - spend the $120 extra on buying yourself a nicer television instead of wasting it on the Monster brand name and nothing more!
Digital camera Review: Buyer Beware - RIP OFF Summary: 1 Stars
Monster has all these cute explanations on why their cables are better. It's a rip off. Do youself a favor and buy these cables 6-Foot Gold-Plated HDMI v1.3b CAT 2 Cable Male to Male for HD HDTV High Definition Digital Multimedia Audio / Video (Retail, RoHS, UL Compliant) . THese cables cost $1.55 plus shipping for a total of less than $5 per cable and work just as good as these rip off cables. My friend INSISTED on buying these cables...he fell for the marketing scam. We tested them on my 46" Sharp Aquos D85 with my PS3. NO DIFFERENCE...read it again...NO DIFFERENCE. He insisted his were better. Fine, so we call my brother, sister and 3 of our neighbors. No one noticed a difference. And we never told them which cable signal they were viewing. Don't become a victim of these rip-off experts!!! And save yourself that money for some PS3 games or some awesome blu-ray movies.
Digital camera Review: Cable Madness!! Summary: 3 Stars
So, I've trolled through many reviews as of late and seen so many related to cabling. Can you see the difference? That is the biggest question. For most of us...no. If you read all of the guides they will tell you to use the best cable that you can afford due to bandwidth limitations of cheap cables. If you have a 1080p upconverting DVD player a $10 cable will work fine. If you have a Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD receiver with HDMI switching and a Blu-ray player you want the nicer cables as the bandwidth requirements for the audio and video will either cause the picture to degrade or your TV will not pick up the video source. This is coming from personal experience folks so take that for what it's worth.
Digital camera Review: Cables do Make a Difference Summary: 5 Stars
Sorry to burst other reviews; however, quality cables do make a difference. I have a 52" 1080 120HZ screen with an upper mid-range sound system. I replaced the recommend HDMI cables I purchased with the system that were rated for my system (one step down from these cables). I witnessed an immediate upgrade in the picture quality. I ran a side by side test for my neighbor and switched between cables and he even saw the difference. The 1000HD cables are great, just shop around for the best price. FYI, I do have an engineering degree and cable diameter, connector grade, and manufacturing methods can make a difference. It just depends on the application whether the upgrade in cabling is necessary. I would not buy this cable for a low to mid-grade system (720P, or screens with refresh rates less than 120HZ).
Digital camera Review: Cant see the difference Summary: 3 Stars
Ive just received my new 1000HD monster cable and I was pretty excited on changing my old cable and see the difference in deep color and other specs. I have a KDL46EX700 SONY LED TV with a SONY BDP-S360 player and I put on CHICAGO which has a lot of BLACKS and good colors to really see if it was worth it. The chapter that I selected was Cell block Tango. With the standard sony HDMI cable and with the Monster 1000HD cable LOOKED THE SAME, then I just started to see if I didnt make any mistakes and checked the calibration on the TV and its the SAME.
Ok, now I know that if I ever need another HDMI cable I wont turn to Monster unless I have to plug it and unplug it 100 times a day.
A PRO is that the cable looks very good but thats it.
