Digital camera reviews of Monster MP HTFS-IW HC In-Wall PowerCenter for Custom InstallationsDigital camera Review: Misled... Summary: 2 StarsFirst, I am extremely disappointed to have purchased this item for $155, only for it to reduce in price by almost $50.00 almost 2 weeks later on Amazon! (I hadn't even received/ gotten it out of the box yet when I saw this)-- not sure as to why-- is there something wrong with the technology? Having said this, I was also disappointed with the installation process. According to my electrician, the unit has a low voltage receptacle that doesn't hold the main unit correctly, which after installing the cover plate, is not flush to the wall (it bumps out on the right). Similar to another comment I read, a decorative work box should have been included. In addition, the wiring instructions were in reverse, which makes my installation appear the opposite of the picture provided on the box it was packaged in and in advertisement for this unit. I do not know how well this equipment will perform over the long term, but it is installed on my wall right now, and at least has all the lights are on. I wish I didn't have to, but this is one of the worse reviews I have ever had to write.
Digital camera Review: Looks good, hope it works Summary: 4 StarsThe Monster MP HTFS-IW HC In Wall Power Center was a logical choice for my new Sharp LCD TV. I mounted the PowerCenter on the wall and used an optional (did not come with) HDMI in-wall dual outlet in place of the provided coax connectors plate.
I had some installation issues that need to be pointed out. The wires for the power center are three stranded and three solid wires. The instructions say to connect the line power in to the solid wires and connect the stranded wires to the duplex outlet with ring terminals. A label on the unit says to connect the other way.
The duplex outlet included is not the Decora style rectangular design as shown, it is a common round duplex outlet. A plastic cover is included to fit over the outlet to make it look like a Decora outlet.
The enclosed offset power cable is nice, but it does not work on my TV. It appears to be made for A/V or computer power connection.
Once the installation is complete, the setup is slick and looks good. The status leds can be switched on/off.
I have my 40" LCDTV plugged into it now and it appears to be working beautifully. I'll know soon enough with the spring storm season upon us.
It is covered by a 2-year warranty, plus up to $250,000 maximum coverage on connected equipment for 2 years.
Digital camera Review: Good Product Summary: 3 StarsIt seems to work alright. The installation instructions were bad. The "upgraded" cord it comes with is a good idea but didn't work on my TV.
Digital camera Review: Awesome! Summary: 5 StarsThis great little product saves me lots of space. I have one of Monster's high end surge protectors and line conditioners as well. I compared the two and I can't tell a difference. Usually my Martin Logan speakers will pick up any electrical noise from a cheap surge protector. I didn't have that problem here.
Digital camera Review: Looks good Summary: 5 StarsObviously I don't know if the surge protection part of this thing works yet, but as far as looks, it's done the trick. It hid all my cords behind my flat panel very nicely and as long as the built in surge does it's job, I'll be more than happy with this purchase. If my TV gets killed in a storm though, I'll make sure to update this review. LOL!
