Nothing fancy about Monsters Outlets to go x4. If you mess up a power supply that is just sad. Monster x4 works great, I love that it has a cord as many other compact/laptop power supplies do not. It is very compact and fits in many of my laptop bag's compartments with ease.
Size: For those wondering about safe overall size dimensions it is 6 1/4in tall and 2in at its deepest (where it plugs back into itself) and 2in wide. So 6 1/4 x 2 x 2in. If you have room for that you have room for this.
Light: Kind of pointless in my opinion and it needlessly jacks up the cost. No big deal though. Guess it helps you locate you laptop etc in the dark when you change surroundings a lot i.e. on the road all the time.
The only con is the black version costs more than the white version for no apparent reason. This seems very silly to me so I snatched a star off the rating for that.
Rugged, well built (not these cheap plasticky feeling bargain bin ones) and very simple. I sprung for the black one for a little extra cash as all my laptop stuff is Black/dark gray. It is great to know that no matter where you go you have surge protection no matter what. Also would be great if you are a LAN fan and take a smaller PC on the road all the time as well. If you want something fancier with USB charging go for the Belkin, if you want simple and sturdy, this here's your boy.

This is one compact and useful power strip. I bought this power strip based on all the positive reviews I read on this site. I bought it for carrying it on my India trip. I am currently using the power strip for charging my laptop (100-240 V adapter). I'm using it with the Belkin F8E449 Universal AC Travel Adapter in India (with 220 Volt outlets). The blue light faded after a few days, but I wouldn't care less, because otherwise it seems to work very well. It has 4 outlets that are spaced wide apart even to accommodate bulky adapters. It also has a built-in circuit-breaker with a reset button. It does not have an ON/OFF switch but I didn't need one for my kind of use. The build quality is excellent, and the cord is heavy duty. It is light and the foot long cord wraps around and fits nicely into any laptop bag. I would strongly recommend this for all travelers (domestic or international).Digital camera Review: Compact and well constructed

The self-storing plug cord alone makes this thing a winner -- I hate looping up a twisted extension cord and rubber-banding or twist-tying everything every time you need it. Plus, I seldom really need the "extension" part of an extension cord; all I need is a few more places to plug things in. It's small, relatively light, and is more rugged than most other strips. We charged an iPhone, an iPod and a camera, with one outlet left over.
If traveling abroad, be sure to take a voltage converter and an outlet adapter (preferably one with surge protection).
Note that I've rated this "one star" for protection. If they're meaning surge protection, this strip doesn't have it. But if they mean "the cord wraps around and plugs itself into one of the outlets, protecting them all", then I'd up that rating to 4 stars, because that's what it does (though not quite covering the other outlets completely).

Great design. Someone really gave it some thought. And the surge protection works well; however, I found that the surge protector isn't designed to handle a compound miter saw. That seems to blow it and I had to send the unit back to the manufacturer to get a new one. They were great, but I'm still dinging them 1 star because I would have preferred to see the fuse blown (switch tripped) rather than have to replace the whole unit.
No problems with my laptop, phone charger, portable fan, and electric razor all charging at the same time.

I travel frequently for work and this power strip has been great. I use it for my laptop, cell phone and bluetooth charging and many other things. I made two trips this week where there was only one available outlet and this power strip allowed me to operate everything I needed.
The one drawback is the length of the cord. It's only about a foot long so you can't get any extra reach out of it and if you plug it in an outlet that's lower on the wall you might need something to sit it on so it doesn't just hang from the outlet. No complaints, though. This is a great product for anyone who has a lot of technology to carry with them and need a small, convenient way to run/charge it all.
