Digital camera reviews of Monster MP OTG400 BK Outlets To Go 4 Outlet Travel Power Strip (Black)Digital camera Review: Great for travel and cramped home space. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to put inside one of those charging caddies. the caddy I bought was small and inside you could only put a very small power strip. I couldn't use it in the caddy because of the large plug on the end of the strip wouldn't fit through the hole in the back of the caddy. So I returned the caddy. I keep the power strip because I like it's small design. I can use it for charging my mp3 players and such instead of taking up space on my larger power stip. If your looking for something compact this is for you. It has four outlets and I think that's plenty unless you need more. You almost have to see it to believe it's size. I have Monster brand items and they work great.
Digital camera Review: Great for travellers domestically and internationally! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm studying in France for a year and was so pleased to have come across this power strip. It's so portable. Instead of buying multiple power converters, I brought only one, and this power strip. It works just fine.
Digital camera Review: Great notebook power strip, outlets are away from the wall. Summary: 5 Stars
I've been looking for a notebook power adapter like this for months. The plug is on a sturdy cord which places the power strip body several inches away from the wall. No more single unit power strips which can hide outlets because they have to be plugged into the wall sideways.
There are 4 available 120v 3-prong outlets, no phone or co-ax outlets. And when stored, the power cord wraps around the length of the power strip and plugs into one of the outlets. It has a trip reset button.
Small, neat, easy to carry and use. Anyone with a laptop would definitely love this!
Digital camera Review: Great on trains (nightlight) except, remember, it's not a surge protector Summary: 4 Stars
I do like this power strip, and perhaps for a reason some do not -- the light makes a perfect nightlight aboard a sleeper car on the train. We literally only needed the power strip plugged in to navigate our sleeper after dark, and of course it served us well in keeping our cellphones and iPads charged (reminder: it's NOT a surge protector/suppressor - you could have a bad day if a power spike hit your devices plugged into this device.)
I've since stopped using this when traveling, and now have equally portable -- but much kinder to my devices -- surge protector/suppressor based power strips. The peace of mind I've gained is worth it, but for what it is, the product does its job.
One complaint I do have is the silver (on the black version of the powerstrip, anyway) discs that act as faceplates/covers to each plug tend to pop off. I lost one on the train so now my powerstrip looks a little weird (a cosmetic issue), but its functionality hasn't changed a bit.
Digital camera Review: Great power strip for frequent travelers! Summary: 5 Stars
This is great for international travel, as you only need one international adapter to simultaneously charge all your gadgets. It's also great on a cruise ship, where there is frequently only one US-type plug on the desk where you can charge all your gear.
In general, it's very sleek and compact and great for travel. Would be nice for hotels as well, so you don't have to spread your charging items all over the room, trying to find outlets. It isn't heavy or bulky. This is perfect to charge my cell phone, video player, iPod and laptop all at once. It does emit a small bright blue LED light when in use, so I wouldn't place this item right next to my bed, but it's OK in a hotel room... kind of acts as a bonus nightlight.
