First off, this is a great quality cable. Marketing a 7ft cable to Zune users in their car doesn't make any sense. If this was 3-4ft cable (I mean, how far away do you sit back from your dash??), it would be perfect. It is 7 feet long because some people don't like the mess of cords all over your vehicle and sticking out the front of your receiver. It is most likely made that long to drop it (hook it) from the back of the cd player(receiver) .think about it!!
