Digital camera reviews of Monster iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter with Auto-Scan for iPod

Digital camera Review: First Time Was a Winner
Summary: 5 Stars

This was my first purchase for this type of product (FM Transmitter)for a newly acquired iPod Video 60 GB. Based on many inquiries with other owners of transmitters (7 other brands and models), my initial expectations were very low. This product performed stellar from the very first use (June 07)to date. Follow the simple instructions exactly and creat an FM preset (have not had to change the original yet). Road trip in August through 6 states may provide an opportunity to use the seek button. The price SRP $99 seemed high, but it has consistently delivered clear reproduction of the music on the iPod.

Digital camera Review: First hand experience.

First of all I don't see any reason why you could not ship this item to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a territory of the USA and if you can ship a book you can ship this type of merchandise. It is not nuclear material is just a transmitter.

The thing failed in four hours of use. I had to open it to make it work again, still with difficulty. After that it has been working as I expected.

Digital camera Review: Flawless
Summary: 5 Stars

Worked exactly as stated, the auto-scan feature is quite a novelty. I never really had any success with iPod FM transmitters before and gave up on them...until I decided to take a chance on this unit after reading the reviews about it. I'm glad I spent the money on this as it worked exactly how I wanted/needed it to. Good stuff!

Digital camera Review: For the $$ you'd think it'd be almost perfect, but it's not even close.

I got this as a gift last year for my Ipod Classic Video 30GB so I'm so relieved that I didn't waste my own $100. I live in the metro nyc area and would love to use this everyday but it's not worth the headache.

This only has 3 buttons, so why is it so hard to use!!! The autoscan takes minutes, not seconds, to go thru the entire radio network and ends up picking the same 3 stations all the time. When I press the main button sometimes it scans, sometimes it picks a station, and sometimes it just does nothing. During songs, I hear blasts of static. Sometimes the Monster turns off and then then I'm listening to the radio station. I also need to hold the ipod up by the steering wheel while I'm driving otherwise it gets even worse reception. I know my cheap new corolla's radio is partially to blame but the Monster cable should work well enough to make listening to my ipod in the car a pleasant experience but it doesnt.

Digital camera Review: GETS THE JOB DONE
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my third Monster iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter, After using it all the time the wire came apart for the plug that connects to the iPod dock (still useable but I replaced it). The second one after a year it would lose the signal and I would have to push the button to restart the iPod. I later found out this happened because The MP3's I recorded myself were to low and the signal to the radio was low. I re-recorded those songs and have had no problems since. So all in all my problems were of my own making. You just have to know the devices limitations... Good sound fidelity and in stereo. Pick any station from one end of the dial to the other. Well worth the money......
