Digital camera Review: Not for a cruise ship

We purchased this product specifically to keep in touch with family members on a cruise ship. We couldn't communicate with the other family even though they were on the same floor. I assume it's because of all the metal in a ship.
The product may work fine outdoors but I haven't had need to use it since the cruise so I can't comment.
