I had bought a cable modem from state street deals, the price looked very good, but when I recieved this item there were a few things missing as what was said in the discription. 1st. off the modem itself did not work, 2-3 things were not in the box when I opened it, they do not return your phone calls. You just can't go wrong with the Motorola Surfboard cable modem. It's basic, simple, stable and it's performance is exceptional. I purchased this modem from Amazon tru one of their sattelite stores. I had no problem installing the modem but had a nightmare with Comcast getting it to work. After spending an hour on the phone twice with Comcast, and them telling me the modem was bad, I decided to Call Motorola for help. Motorola ran all the diagnostics and said the modem was fine. After 3 days, I finally got the modem up and running. However, while on the phone with Motorola, the tech informed me that the two year warranty on the modem had already expired on 1/18/2011. I didn't receive the product until March 2011. Called Amazon to find out what was up with this. I was basically told I had to deal with the store I purchased it from and gave me a non-toll free number. I thought I bought it from Amazon? I would definitely send it back but do not want to go tru several more hours to get a replacement up and running. I will risk losing my $50. before I go tru this debacle again. All I asked for was the two year warranty I was entitled to. CAVEAT EMPTOR. I have bought from Amazon for years and have always been completely satisfied with their products and customer service. So, this is a first, and quite possibly, the last. Also, the modem I received was not the same model number as the one I ordered. This cm is awesome. Better than the 5120 as the 5120 has firmware that does not like VoIP. I highly recommend this for any user!
