Digital camera reviews of MyGift Kindle 2 Clear Silicone Cover Sleeve and Kindle 2 Anti-Scratch Screen Protector

Digital camera Review: Fits great!
Summary: 5 Stars

The clear silicone cover fit perfectly and still shows off your Kindle. The screen protector also fit perfectly...no trimming!

Digital camera Review: Fits too loosely, Screen protector still has bubbles!
Summary: 2 Stars

This fit way too loosely on my Kindle 2. Since it's silicone, I expected it to fit snugly, but that is far from the case. The LCD screen protector is also horrible. I tried everything to keep bubbles from being trapped between the screen and the protector (using a credit card to push the protector down, laying it slowly from left to right or up to down), and there wre still little bubbles. This isn't a huge deal, but when you're reading and looking at the Kindle screen, it can distract you a bit. Plus, if you're going to drop $350 on a Kindle, the accessories should compliment it. You shouldn't have to settle for a ghetto-looking screen.
Definitely don't purchase this. I was more than disappointed.

Digital camera Review: Good Case Though There Could Be Improvement
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm satisfied with my Kindle 2 Silicone case. It fits my Kindle well, is lightweight and translucent so that I can see the side buttons. Like one of the other reviewers noted, the case works well for at home reading. It is comfortable for me to hold my Kindle and read at my leisure. However, on my day-to-day commute to and from work or elsewhere, I use my Cole Haan leather cover (which I give 5 stars as I love it!). There are a couple of things that prevent me from giving this case 5 stars:

1. It doesn't provide any protection for the keyboard. I'm not sure why the makers of this case wouldn't provide any covering for the keyboard, but they don't. I almost regret throwing away the plastic protective sheet that came with the Kindle's packaging.

2. As other reviewers mentioned, the screen protector is worthless. It is a dust and lint magnet. I use my case without the screen protector. Since I only use the case when I'm reading at home vs. when I'm carrying it in my purse or backpack, this point isn't too big of a deal for me.

Overall, the case is worth the purchase if the two issues mentioned above don't conflict with your needs. Otherwise, I'm sure there are other cases out there that provide good protection for the whole Kindle--body, keyboard and the screen.

Digital camera Review: Good for the price.
Summary: 2 Stars

Pros:
1) It was cheap.
2) The silicone skin is durable and protects the Kindle from scratches.
3) The skin is also good in terms of keeping the Kindle from sliding all over the place.

Cons:
1) Don't even bother with the screen cover. Even wiping the screen with the recommended cloth didn't keep particles from sticking to the cover as I was applying it. Also, some parts of it have to fit at the very edges of (and sometimes under the lip of the rim) the screen, very difficult to do even with the helpful tag.
2) Once you get the cover on, you realise it's not as non-reflective as you have been led to belive.
3) The lips of the silicone cover rise promiscuously over the buttons. They flap. Aesthetically most displeasing.

Digital camera Review: Great "skin" and works with other covers
Summary: 5 Stars

The silicone skin fits the Kindle snugly and does not interfere with using the Kindle in any way. I like the feel of the skin. It makes the Kindle less slippery and the whole unit feels more substantial. It does add slightly to the bulk, but the Kindle with the skin still fits into my leather cover (which holds the Kindle by elastic straps across each corner), For travel, I will leave the relatively bulky leather cover at home and use just the Kindle with the silicone skin, both for protection of the Kindle's finish and for its more satisfactory "touch."
