If you are looking for a simple, non-managed gigabit switch, this is the one to buy. After using several of them at work and setting them up for friends, I can say that they are great, reliable switches. I finally bought one for myself to avoid having to run separate cables for my xbox, ps3 and media center (gigabit streaming!) If you need a Gigabit switch for your home network, give this one some serious consideration. It's built well (metal case) and just works.
I suppose that the only problem that some may have with this switch is that the ports are on the front. I have no problems with this arrangement, but it could be less than desirable in some situations.

I had my 5-port switch up and running in about 30 seconds. The great thing about a switch versus a hub is that a switch keeps all of the local internet traffic between local computers in the switch. A hub will send ALL traffic upstream to your modem, thereby causing WWW traffic slowdowns.Digital camera Review: Great product

Very pleased! In brief, a quality product. Small compact size. Built tough, no frills setup (just plug everything in and away you go). The NetGear switch comes with a lifetime warranty. Does not get hot as others have noted.
