I got this router to use in our office network and it totally exceeded my expectations. The WNDR3700 allows you to create wireless SSIDs on the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands so everyone can join your LAN. In addition to the two frequencies, you can even set up a guest network on each frequency that allows guests to get internet access without allowing them access to your LAN. This is perfect for our office where we have local servers that contain sensitive information.
I haven't done any official speed tests, but everything feels snappy and quick on wireless G right now. I'll be adding some wireless N devices to the network over the next week or two so I will update my review accordingly.
It seems that the open source firmware community is working on porting DD-WRT for the WNDR3700, but I haven't had any problem with Netgear's software. The interface is a little clunky to use because it's bogged down by the wealth of options that this router can provide, but if you're experienced with setting up wireless networks, you shouldn't have any trouble finding your way around. For people who want a quick and easy solution, the router configuration also provides a wizard that will walk you through the setup.
So far, we've been running in it for a few weeks now and it has been perfectly stable. Setting it up as a wireless access point was easy enough. I just plugged it into our LAN and configured the wireless to what I wanted.
