Digital camera Review: Absolute Junk!

Received this router and hooked it up with the help of customer support...finally. It took a couple hours and was frustrating.
It was working fine but nothing spectacular considering I have the fastest speed cable internet Cox has to offer. Then I went to change the priorities and from that point on the router is almost useless. I even changed back to the original settings and nothing. Then I updated the firmware and it even got worse.
Now my internet is slow, I can't play one single round of Bomberman on my PS3 without it freezing up completely to the point of having to hold down the power button on the Playstation to turn it off.
Called back support and now they tell me I need to pay another $69 for special tech support or they can't help me. I can probably call back and get that straightened out where I don't have to pay but this is ridiculous to go through this for a supposed high end router.
This piece of junk is going back. To be honest my cheap $20 belkin I purchased from Walmart 2 years ago out performed this overall.
I just ordered a SMC gigabit router from Amazon and will let you know how it works out.

Going to be short on this, researched 29 top contenders and narrowed it down to Apple Airextreme-too much and don't tell you it is better to have MAC, Dlink- comparible model $250, and Cisco- again to much. So, the real clincher was value for the dollar and this router works very well and sets up in minutes, and the extras are a bonus.Digital camera Review: Absolutely Love It!!!

I bought this router after I had major problems with a Linksys always having IP address conflicts with the security settings always resetting to default and having connection problems. This router was so easy to setup. My house is full of wireless and wired machines. I have video game systems and laptops/pc's everywhere. I have excellent connection speeds and I honestly have to say it is well worth the money for the router. I have not had 1 problem with the router. I honestly have to say that most of my laptops/pc's run Vista 64 bit or higher and the installation CD won't work with those. Instead you can go to their website and actually get the software for the newer OS. I love the speeds and it actually broadcasts those speeds because it is a gigabit ethernet router both on wireless and wired. I love the USB port because I have a 2 TB external hard drive connected for a network backup drive. All my computers are setup to backup to this drive and it works perfectly. I love this router and am excited to see new enhancements coming to this router and more coming from Netgear.Digital camera Review: After 8 months review...

Let me start out saying the WNDR3700 is a good choice, not saying the other brands are not as good for a lower price but I do believe it is a good value for what we have at our home/set up. After 8 months of use I can only relate to what we have or what we have experienced so far with this router. Our set-up consist of 3 computers ( 1 wireless the other two haed hooked directly) a wireless blu ray player ( for Netflix ) and a wireless Logitec squeezbox player upstairs. I intended this router for our daughters wirelss laptop (64bit) that she recieved for Christmas but then have since added additional items to it. At first we had a few troubles to get the laptop to hook up to the router but after an update and a call to Netgear service all worked out good, but it does time to time drop a signal to her laptop. Netflix on the LG bluray player for the most part works great, it does once in awhile seem to stream at a lower rate and then boost back up. It connection to the squeezebox has no trouble at all. Now take in mind, the "drops", "slow rate" or conection lost may be do to the other devices ( in which they are most likley ) but I would at least throw that in, nothing is perfect. At the most ( the area with the squeezebox player ) has 3 bearing walls to go through as 40ft would be the distance. The other items have the same if not a bit less. So far I am very pleased with this router as it has performed as I had expected it too. This router has a very good range, mostly dependable as it would offer most anything you can add to it. Bought it last night as our D-Link start failing after 2 years w/o problems (started to have to reset many times a day for 3-4 days when my patience ran out).
Installation was fairly simple although on the first trial it said it did not find the internet connection (although skype was on green). Clicked on "try again" and no problems.
We have a Asus netbook (1mb ram) with a n band and Sype video call works better. In fact even this laptop (g band) I write you from seems better. We are also considering a skype phone, so we got this unit.
I read quite a bit about new router. Decided on this one. Bought at best buy because wanted right away and we have silver RZ which gives a 12% discount. Otherwise would buy it here. I went there to pick up this unit but ended up asking the best buy guy just in case. He pointed to this one and a cisco one 20 bucks more. He said he has seen very few of the cisco returned and none of these. But he said both were good. the ones returned were usually the lower end ones...
Only thing I don't know is that I asked me during installation to name the two wirelles (2.4 and 5 ghz) I named them the basically the same with a "2" and a "5" in the end of the names. But both of our computers as well as the wireless printer we have only found the one with the "2"... not sure if this is something with our stuff or I'm not having the "5" wireless network. If somebody knows please leave us a comment.
Anyway, wanted something in the upper end. We got it. I'm not the geek guy. To me it's working so far. If nothing goes wrong in a month should be 1 more star added.
