Digital camera Review: AWESOME Wireless Router - Better than the Linksys
Summary: 5 Stars

I just upgraded myself from a Linksys 10b wireless ROUTER to this AWESOME Netgear Rangemax. It was a snap to configure - I have DSL and 3 total wireless computers in the house for the family. It was getting a horrible spotty and inconsistent connection with the Linksys 10 b wireless router even though i had linksys wireless usb adaptors on my families computers... Anyway this was only $99 (and I can send my old linksys router in and get a FREE WIRELESS G adaptor. That means one of my family members will get a free wireless G instead of B adaptor. Guess what ? After upgrading to the netgear for the $99 both the linksys wireless adapters on my other pcs work incredible faster and the signal is 100% strong... Can't beat that and the free Wireless g adapter is on the way anyway. SO I felt I had to let other people know how impressed I am with the Netgear Rangemax wireless and RJ45 router. It also has 4 direct ports in it... By the way; they are serious about customer service as they had a Netgear rep working in Compusa helping tons of people whom were disillusioned or having problems with the Linksys products including range and and signal strength.. There it is ! Good luck and my family thinks Im a genious...

Digital camera Review: Absolutely perfect...every aspect!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this router used off eBay from JustDeals.com's store, 38 dollars shipped with a 30 day warranty. First of all, my previous router was a Linksys WRT54G, the thing worked, but BARELY. I live in a 6000 sq. ft. 100 year old house, the walls EVERYWHERE are 1 1/2 ft. thick stone, so obviously the Linksys didn't work for ****! Last week, the Linksys stopped sending any information all together, and after 6 HOURS (Yes..i actually wasted that much time...don't worry they are buying me an upgraded one which will be put right on eBay :) ) said **** it and bought this.
Got it 2 days ago, first impression, this thing is beautiful, really for a router its nuts! The Linksys was ugly as hell, so I tried hiding it, not this one, its awesome! As other reviews here have stated, don't use the cd, login directly (Start -> Run -> http://www.routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm ). Enable extended range, WEP, DONE. Seriously, the setup was 2 or 3 minutes, and I was connected.

RESULTS:
Uhh...shocking to say the least! The Linksys NEVER (even when you were a clear foot from it) downloaded quickly, maybe 160 kb a second max for me. This thing, 3 FLOORS and 2 Stone walls in the way, downloads at seriously speeds nearing 900 kb a second! (Windows XP SP2 is 200+ mb, took me under 4 minutes to download). Like I said, after enabling Extended Range (XR) the NetGear shines, it is just ridiculous. My neighbors 2 houses down can pick my internet up with a fairly good connection. The the throughput is insane, I have 6 computers connected, one with Media Center, and XBOX 360, and a Nintendo Wii, often with 3 or more using the connection simultaneously, hardly effects it.
And if you can't set this up like MANY people here have problems with, honestly, go back to Dial-Up, you shouldn't be allowed to use high-speed internet.
OVERALL this router is amazing looking, affordable, and works flawlessly. And the blue "Orb is not so much distracting, it just looks sick! Definitely one to keep out in the open..

Digital camera Review: Ahhh, a superior router thats user friendly too!
Summary: 5 Stars

I own this router and a Linksys router. Both are effective for range, but the nextgear wins hands down for ease of use.

Very easy to understand web page (which is how you configure routers by 'logging' onto them). Just set it up and go. Whereas the Linksys is complicated even for an advanced PC user.

One thing: The rangemax isn't enabled. You'll have to turn it on in the 'router webpage', and it really isn't needed unless you've got a huge house or need to be outside with your pc!

Great signal, user friendly, and pretty cool looking, PC geek tested and approved! A+

Get it!

Digital camera Review: Always count on netgear
Summary: 5 Stars

We had this product a few months now; easy setup and worked right form the start. A few times it went out on us, due to power or cable problems and seemed to have froze, however being netgear, a simple unplug of power and replug set it up and running immediately. Wireless is SUPERB. We live in a condo, large, many cement walls, and on the 3rd floor. This baby makes us get ocnnection in our friends appartment 2 floors below us as well as outside on the terrace across the house. We LOVE it. Speed is great, we do online gaming alot and never a problem whether we play, download, etc at the same time.

Digital camera Review: Always works, no dead spots
Summary: 5 Stars

A programmer friend despaired that I spent so much on this router (at the time, about $140). But it's turned out to be worth every penny. Three Windows machines and an Apple Powerbook all access the Web perfectly from any spot in our 2400 sq.-ft. house or in the backyard, even though the router is on one corner of that house.

Although initial setup was easy, I needed help to change some default settings that caused intermittent access problems. Since that's been solved, I don't have to think about it any more. Ever. It just works.

Netgear even printed important information, like what the lights mean, and the web address for the control panel, right on the bottom of the router! In a contrasting color! Imagine!
