Bought this on October 20th, 2010 and it's now December 28th, 2010 and the AC adapter purchased here no longer charges my battery. It will power but not charge the laptop any longer. The adapter acts like it's plugged in, then unplugged, then plugged in when the cable is slightly touched. This leads me to believe there is a short in the wire. The wire that comes with this unit is not as thick or solid feeling as an OEM AC adapter. I will purchase an OEM product from Dell. I do NOT recommend this product. I looked around a lot to make sure I found an adapter that was compatible with my Dell Inspiron 1501 because my old one was damaged and my battery would not charge. The AC Adapter that I received in the mail has fixed this problem. Now my battery charges and I have not had a problem with it since I received this AC Adapter (over a month ago). Very recommended for anyone with an Inspiron 1501 that has an adapter that is broken/messed up and needs a replacement. I thought the price was very reasonable and I received it within a couple of days of ordering. I am very thankful because I was thinking about asking my dad to buy me a new computer but it seems as though this has fixed the problem! Thanks a lot guys for all of your help! Very recommended. The ac adaptor works great. I was very happy when it finally arrived because it was supposed to arrive in 3 days and was over a week late. But amazon has great employees who work hard to make sure there customers are happy. Thank you.

Worked perfectly fine for 2 months. Then stopped charging and falls out and even when plugged in its hard to keep it that way so i slowly watch my battery life drop. Its at about 68% after the second day of this issue. When a screen comes up saying please use a 65 watt adapter and your using one...kinda bad. oh and a different 65 watt adapter works just fine btw. Terrible product.
