Digital camera Review: Distracting oscillating hum develops after 30 - 60 minutes
Summary: 1 Stars

After 30 - 60 minutes of use, unit develops an easily heard oscillating hum that is from the fan/motor. This happened 10 tens in a row. Noise was too distracting for me to keep the device and I returned it and bought an Antec Unbeatable Notebook Cooler 200. I have 3 other Antecs and they work great on 15 and 17" Mac and Lenovo laptops. I missed USB connections of the NZXT but just bought a 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub, Black
by Generic.

Digital camera Review: Does What It's Meant to Do
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this cooler for my aging Sony Vaio laptop which seemed to be getting hotter at various times than had been the case in the past. The laptop fits perfectly on the cooler, and never slides off. The cooler does an excellent job of keeping the bottom of my laptop cool, and in that sense it's worked great (I don't think you could buy a cooler that did a better job of keeping a laptop cool). The one problem I did have with the cooler was that after about 6 months of use, the AC/DC outlet (on the back of the cooler, which is used to connect to the laptop via USB) suddenly broke. The tiny outlet loosened and I could no longer connect the cooler with my laptop. I contacted the company, NZXT, and they decided to send me a new cooler altogether. They paid the shipping costs to send me the new one, but I had to pay the shipping costs to send the old one to them. I've had the one they sent me for about a year and a half and have had no issues with it so far.

Digital camera Review: Effective cooler for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought one of these to cool a desktop replacement, the Dell Inspiron 9100. It effectively cooled that laptop around 10-15 degrees on a regular basis. At present it cools an HP Pavilion dv7 series 17.3" laptop with room to spare:-)

Likes:
Plenty of USB ports (the most I've found so far in a cooler)
3 120 MM fans (very effective cooling)
USB powered (no wall wart for external power)
Well suited for wide screens, will probably do nicely even for an 18" or even larger

Dislikes:
Fan noise: I had to modify the unit to prevent the fan blades from scraping against the grilles by adding shim washers to the fans for spacing. Not much clearance there from the factory....
Static electricity: In a dry environment, this cooler caused the above laptop to shut down. Apparently static electricity would pass from the user through the cooler to the comp via the USB port(s). I did not try the experiment with any other laptop for fear of zapping the motherboard. A humidifier helped that situation greatly.

I greatly recommend this cooler as it is well constructed out of aluminum, has large non slip rubber areas, folds up for storage, and cools quite well. The only reason for 4 stars is because the fan grilles tend to warp (or came from the factory that way)...

Digital camera Review: Efficient
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this cooler for some two months now and I'm very satisfied.
It is sturdy and has 3 powerful ventilators, fitting perfectly for 17' notebooks. My notebook in particular, which was shutting off very often due to overheating, has never again done so, which makes the price totally worth it (don't wanna think about the costs to replace degraded parts due to continuous overheating). Features 5 usb ports also.
Still, beware: this cooler is THE heaviest I've ever seen/used, and it's design is made for using on a desk, not on the lap directly, unless u have some good blanket between your lap and the cooler - it gets to the point of hurting your legs, and it can get a bit clumsy with all that size/weight. The power cord is ridiculously short for a modern, every-day use appliance like this, and though it's probably my fault for not searching more info, I still didn't get why they send two usb cables with it when it doesn't work with usb-powering only.
Even considering those disadvantages, I absolutely recommend this cooler... probably saved my notebook, and is way better than any other cooler I've ever tried.

Digital camera Review: Excellent Cooler for Large Notebooks
Summary: 5 Stars

This product is excellent for gamers and owners of large and powerful notebooks. Very quiet. I have used 4 or 5 different coolers and this one outperforms them all. Big enough to accommodate my 17 inch wide screen with room to spare. My internal fan never turns on anymore because of this units huge cooling capacity. I would definitely recommend this cooler for gamers. Worth the Price.
