Digital camera Review: Great cooling ability

This cooler is great...it is definitely the ultimate notebook cooler out there. I have an HP HDX 18t, with an intel q9000 (quad 2.0ghz) processor, 4gb ddr3 ram, and the thing has never had a heating problem. I want my laptop to last for a very long time, so I searched for countless days to make sure i was getting a good cooler. Given, this cooler is more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for. Here's some pros/cons about this cooler:
Pros:
-Awesome cooling ability-you won't find better
-very sturdy frame
-functions as a usb hub-it includes an additional 4 usb ports on the back
cons
-size-the thing is freaking huge, but it is made to cool laptops at 17" and above. I was looking for a cooler that cooled larger laptops, so this is fine for me. however, for transporting, the front part does fold in, so it's not horribly difficult to move around
-sometimes the fans hit something in the fan casing. this might be individual to just my model, but if im not careful when moving the cooler, it makes a very irritable sound while hitting the fan cage
-this cooler needs 2 usb ports to power this beast. It has a 4 port usb hub on the back to compensate, and it does function with just one...but it has the option to use 2, and i'd highly reccomend that you use 2 usb ports from your laptop to power this beast
additional notes:
-although the fan speed is adjustable, it is pretty loud all the time, whether it be on fast or slow...so just keep that in mind. i'd rather have a noisy cooler, than a fried laptop, so im okay with that. the noise isnt horribly loud-like when im listening to music, i can hardly notice it at all...but keep that in mind
also...i read somewhere that somebody used an ipod wall charger to power this...i tried it, and it works. if you dont intend on having your cooler very mobile, this is an option i would recommend.
Overall, i highly recommend this cooler to anybody who wants to make sure their laptop stays cool. it will not disappoint you-you get what you pay for, and you definitely are getting a great cooler when you get this one.

I'm not at all unhappy with my purchase. It keeps my laptop noticeably cooler ( I barely hear the internal laptop fan kick on anymore ) and it makes for a fantastic docking station with it's 6 USB 2.0 ports along with the ability to connect and be recognized by your laptop. However it's not portable and rather large and heavy, it only servers its' purpose with beefier laptops.Digital camera Review: Great laptop cooler

I own a Gateway FX gaming laptop and it gets way too hot to even use on my lap. This is my first cooler I have bought, but I have seen other cheap models that my friends have bought and they don't seem to do the job. NZXT has made an excellent notebook cooler and it is really amazing how much cooler it keeps my gaming laptop. I would reccomend this to anyone who has issues with laptop heat. It is some what expensive, but I wanted the top rated product that I could get and it was worth the $70 plus shipping. If you buy a gaming laptop you might as well spend a little extra and get a cooler that will decrease your heat and keep your laptop at its peak. It is firmly built with aluminum construction which is nice despite the weight. Some would say it is not portable and the only way I could see that is if you do not have a bag large enough to put it in. It is not the most comfortable thing to place on your lap for an extended period of time, but to me it isn't anything to fuss about. First off, if you have a high powered laptop like me, save your money and look elsewhere. You can buy a cooling pad at Best Buy cheaper that works better. I have a Gateway P-7811FX laptop and it runs hot, very hot, like burn the hair off your body hot (not exaggerating.) Therefore I need a cooling pad that will help keep my laptop from overheating will playing a videogame, which is its main function. However, this cooling pad doesn't work hardly at all. I can barely run Oblivion at mid-high settings for more than 10-15 minutes before my graphics card overheats and shuts off. This was a total disappointment, and an expensive one at that.
