Digital camera reviews of National Geographic NG 5162 Earth Explorer Medium BackpackDigital camera Review: Nice camera bag Summary: 4 Stars
I love the bag, but would like to have more small storage compartments. Also, the notebook compartment size is a little misleading. My 15 Macbook Pro fits; but it sticks out of the padded compartment.
Digital camera Review: Only time will tell if it gets the fifth star. Summary: 4 Stars
If you're like me, you want to be able to photograph literally everything. That means, besides the camera body, superwide to long telephoto lenses and a macro lens, plus, maybe, a strong flash unit and a tripod. In the boonies, this pack can carry that, in padded comfort, along with water, lunch, an outer garment for rain or cold, first aid kit,and other emergency stuff.
In town, carry just the camera and a wide-tele zoom, and your laptop, and lunch, and plenty of room for whatever else you require.
I'll wait to award the fifth star when I've used it enough to get an idea of its durability.
Digital camera Review: Pas assez profond... Summary: 3 Stars
Digital camera Review: Perfect for me Summary: 5 Stars
This bag is very nice..the quality is great (course it should be for the price)Lots of compartments and it doesn't scream "Camera Equipment please steal me!" It has a nice compartment for a small notebook computer and holds enough of my camera gear for a day of shooting. I originally bought this bag for travel but I think it will become my daily use camera bag.
Digital camera Review: Poor Design & Function, But Looks Great Doing It. Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased this pack as an up grade from my TAMRAC EXPEDITION 3, as I needed a pack that could carry a notebook computer and a camera. It's just the right size for all my gear as an airline carry on and it's a great looking pack. But it stops there. Here's the bugs. . .
1. When you pick up the pack by the handle on the top, it pulls on the
stitching that holds the flap to the pack. There is no continuous load
path from the handle to the underside of the pack. Time will tell if
the stitching holds.
2. The camera compartment has only three dividers. Two that are "T"
shaped and one small straight piece. With limited Velcro,
customization is not an option, unless you do some modding. If I buy
a new lens, I would like to have a space to fit a lens rather that a
lens to fit a space.
3. The pack comes with a rain cover. I'm guessing that if it rains, it
won't repel water. As an experiment, I dripped some tea on one of
the front covers and the liquid beaded right off the material.
However, when I put a drop one a horizontal surface and touched the
bead, the material seemed to soak up the liquid. (did I just void the
warranty?)
4. There are no modern clasps. Instead, there are metal friction
buckles. This makes it a little slower removing and fastening gear to
the pack.
So why did I buy this pack? Well. . .
If the top handle rips off one day, it'll look great doing it.
If I buy another lens and it won't fit, it'll look great doing it.
If I get rained on with the pack I'll look great doing it.
And if I need to strap on some gear in a hurry but can't because of the looping buckles, I'll look great doing it. . .
Did I mention that it's a great looking pack?
