Digital camera Review: Almost Perfect

This is a good scanner. Clear directions, doesn't need an electrical socket, gives a good clear image.
But if I have a full page receipt, the machine stubbornly refuses to recognize it as a receipt. So I have to add full page receipts manually to tax and other financial docs which is a pain. Perhaps there is a way to do this? If anyone out there knows, please let me know.

Ok..I was as skeptical as the rest of you regarding horrible reviews. However, I chose to try it anyway, and I'm so glad I did. I received the items yesterday. Read the instructions and downloaded the software. I have Windows XP and the company website states there is a new upgrade (3.1) that handles service packs with XP and their related problems. I was careful and did everything as the instructions stated. I had to calibrate the scanner twice, but low and behold, this thing is AWESOME. I did over 60 receipts in less than an hour, with my kid feeding them through the scanner. Highly recommend.Digital camera Review: An Awesome Device!

I purchased this product while coming home from a business trip. The scanner is fast, and the software does exactly what it is advertised to do. If you have a need to organize a bundle of papers and have them instantly accessible, this is the solution for you! I have only found one shortcoming, and I believe that Neat Receipts is working on it. Sometimes when it starts up, it doesn't find the database, and the software has to be re-started. I consider this to be a minor inconvenience given the utility of the combination, and I'm willing to overlook it to give this product 5 stars! Purchased this product for the office book keeper's PC. Software would not install on the PC which is a basic XP Pro box. Wasted hours of my time uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Called in my outside IT support guys to look at it and they wasted three hours on it to no avail. Tried installing on completely different PC and had same problems. We at least came to the conclusion that the problem has something to do with MS SQL not installing properly (MS SQL is installed with Neat receipts and their database won't run without it). Called Neat Receipts support and was told they won't/can't offer support with MS SQL because it's not their software. Unbelievable! So I am stuck with a $150 paperweight! Avoid Neat Receipts at all costs. Get a Fujitsu Scansnap if you want hassle free receipt scanning.
