Digital camera reviews of Next Generation Remote Control Extender

Digital camera Review: A Man's Best Friend
Summary: 5 Stars

This is by far the best remote extender on the market, I haven't even charged the battery yet and it has been 6 months. This extender gives you two rechargable batteries, one can recharge in the base of the unit while you use the other one in the remote. I stuck the IR on my DVR cable box and it controls the rest of my equipment just being next to it (DVD Player and VCR) without the extra leds. I wired my DVR cable box to go out to all of my TV's including the garage and I can watch shows I missed while working on my car or switch over to digital/HD and watch a baseball game without going into the house to change the channel.

Digital camera Review: A great "secret" for AV lovers.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great product- I am using it with the cable box installed in the closet behind my wall mounted LCD. Range is great and response time is FAST.

I highly recommend buying this extender if you're trying to "hide" your cable box or AV equipment.

Digital camera Review: A perfect solution
Summary: 5 Stars

This item is amazing. The directions that come with this item do not fully explain the capabilities of the product. I just mounted my flat screen to the wall over my fireplace and needed to put the cable box, dvd player, etc. somewhere. Rather than mounting the devices to the wall next to the mantel and ruining the image of the room, I put the devices in a cabinet. The extender comes with only 1 IR extension (I also purchased the 3 eye cable for all my devices) but the box itself is also a IR emitter. It comes with 2 batteries so one is within the IR box (which charges the battery) and the other is in the remote; so you never have to worry about dead batteries. The box (for me) has a very long range. The last negative thing about this device is that when you accidentally sit on the remote, you devices will go nuts since nothing prevents the signal from reaching the equipment.

Digital camera Review: A product you want to tell others about.
Summary: 5 Stars

Amazingly simple product that works great. It's one of those rare products you want to tell others about. I have a flat screen TV mounted over a fireplace so there's no place to put the cable box or DVD player. I do have a nearby closet where I installed an outlet and I ran two HDMI cables in the wall to the back of the TV. With this product I can control the cable box and the DVD player with their two remote controls while having the actual devices hidden away and out of sight.

I eneded up ordering two of these units becaue it was about the same price as ordering one unit plus the three-way eye and the additional battery (transmitter). So one unit controls the cable box and the other controls the Blue-Ray DVD player.

One minor issue is with the Comcast Scientific Atlanta DVR Cable Box. The spot where you stick the 'eye' is sort of concave so it doesn't stick real well. It's not so much the products fault, but more a fault with the design of the cable box.

Digital camera Review: A truly amazing product
Summary: 5 Stars

I still can't figure out how this product does what it does, but it clearly does it. I had a simple application (putting a digital TV adapter in a cabinet with a solid door) and I was looking for a simple way to get those IR control codes through the door. The product was easy to set up (only one option to play with) and worked the first time. I just wish someone would tell me how the transmitter they bury in the battery compartment of my remote can intercept the IR signals coming out of the IR transmitter on the outside of the remote.
