Digital camera Review: Awesome but not very eco-friendly

Although I love running with the Nike+ system, I have to agree with some of the people here that this system isn't the most environmentally friendly. It feels like a waste to replace the complete sensor just to be able to use your Nike+ again. Although there are ways to replace the battery in the sensor manually (just Google it and you'll find it) I wasn't sure if I would be able to do this without injuries. This could definitely be made easier. Not sure if this was a design decision by Nike or by Apple, but the motivation here is obviously to keep milking this so that instead of selling a product once they can continue to have you spend money every year when the battery dies.Digital camera Review: Awesome product with VERY limited shelf life

This is a great tool. I love running with the Nike+. You get feedback every 1km (or 1mi) you run and a verbal half way point for any distance workouts. The Nike website is handy to see your progression as well.
The problem here is that the sensors last maybe 1-2 months. I took mine out after every run and turned it off - but the thing only worked for 16 runs! And these were all under 45 minutes runs. The claim on the package that it works for 1000 hours of activity is bogus.
If apple could create a better better and shelf life, this would be a great product. But after using it for a month and then it doesn't work at all, very frustrating.
There is a 1 year warranty, so if you buy this product, save your receipt and box and make sure you buy from somewhere that it's easy to return it to once it proves to be defective.

The nike plus system is great and easy to use but there is a great weakness in the sensor. The sensor uses a battery which is very difficult to replace. In fact, Apple and Nike suggest you buy a new one instead. Beware when buying used because there is no way of knowing how long it was used before and the battery could die very quickly.Digital camera Review: Buy this now
