After reading positive reviews, I purchased this lens pen. I had bought a lens filter that someone had put their fingerprints on. The pen cleaned it completely. It sure seems like the thing I need to carry in my camera bag to keep my pictures clear.Digital camera Review: Compact, Useful, simple..... Wait, not so fast.

I purchased this little helper after receiving my Nikon D90 camera. The brush end works great to get rid of any small bits that may be on the lens or mirror. Then you turn it around, pop off the cap and you have a micro fiber wipe that cleans smudges off of the lens. I will definitely be keeping this little tool in my camera bag for field work. The only problem, as trivial as it may be, is that the head of the micro-fiber end is too big to be able to clean the view finder glass. I would recommend getting the Nikon 8072 Microfiber Cleaning Cloth along with this so that you A.) don't end up rubbing the cloth off the end of the Micro-Fiber end, and B.) so that you can clean the viewfinder on your camera.

After a few days of using this tool it is painfully obvious that the Microfiber tip end of this pen is useless. It has a nice brush on it that retracts, but no cap on the brush to keep dirt out. In closing, I'm sure there is a much less expensive, just as decent, camera lens brush out there that would do the job without paying Nikon premium prices. End result::3 Stars

The Nikon Lens pen fits perfectly in any pocket or any camera bag and can be used with any digital camera - it doesn't have to be a Nikon or a Nikon lens.
I had to wait a month or so for Amazon to receive stock of these cleaners but it was worth the wait. In fact, I came back and bought two more for family members.
The pen has two functions, a fine brush on one end and a soft "scrubber" on the other. The scrubber end has a cap, so you do not contaminate the soft pad (which is treated with solution to wipe away harder to remove spots from your lens). The brush end is telescopic. The yellow slider on the side positions the brush in or out of the pen, so you can easily remove any lint or dust that may have gotten on your lens or filter.
A must have for any photographer, especially one that is on the road or mobile. You can clean your lens easily and quickly without needing wipes (that you throw away) or liquid lens cleaner and wipes.
Highly recommended!

I was very excited to receive this today as my lens has been a bit smudgy. After reading the package, I eagerly cleaned my camera only to find it MUCH MUCH dirtier than when I started. More smudges, LOTS of tiny specks all over and even one of the hairs from the retractable brush.
Will NOT use again.
Complete waste of money.
