I have owned a pair of these binoculars for years. This new pair is for my husband who has always said that MY binocs were so much BETTER than his. For catching Hawaii's red i`iwi and apapane (native birds)in the koa forests, these cannot be beat. For scanning the hillsides for sheep on Mauna Loa or elk in the Rocky Mountains, these are the best. These binoculars bring details alive in the landscape that you will totally miss out on otherwise. Good quality binoculars for the price. They give very sharp images when bird watching or stargazing. I have a pair of 15x70's and these smaller ones put it to shame. The field of view is generous considering the 10x magnification and the distortion around the edges isn't even noticeable unless you deliberately look for it.
I used to use the 15x70's for watching raptors in flight but since these are lighter and give better views the 15x70's are just collecting dust.

I was in the market for some good but not so expensive Binoculars. I tried these at the local sports store but found a better deal on Amazon. I love the sharpness and the ease of use with these. I don't find these heavy at all, and with a tripod set up they are even better. I use these for scoping out new hikes and rocks to climb and take these with me everywhere.
