I've always been a Nikon camera fan, and these are outstanding binoculars, with the same look, feel and optics you find in their highest quality cameras.
If you spend a few moments learning about how to buy binculars, you'll be able to choose, as I did, a product that is well built and designed for what you are doing (hummingbird watching here). Learn what Magnification Power, Objective Lens Diameter and Exit Pupil mean.
The case is clean in design, very nice and functional.

I bought this item for my Marine Mammals and Pelagic Birds course and I've used it already in Whale Watching trips often. The product is very easy to use and Nikon has yet to fail me in the quality of their optics (I also own a D5000 DSLR). I bought it here in Amazon for a very decent price. Overall I'd suggest this product for a lot of people. It works great and it comes with a case and a neck strap too and I really liked that. If you want long range, then go get a 16 x 50mm or something better. But for something that's not too far and not too close, this is great. Amazon is a horrible vendor. For a first time user like me, their service is horrible. The fool people by saying free shipping ( 5 to 7 business days) even it actually takes over 20 days. I placed an order for my vacation and it clearly said that shipping takes 5 to 7 days. But guess what, the shippment will arrive after i leave for vacation. Amazon takes over a week to prepare the shipping and another 2 weeks for the shippment to be delivered. I called the customer service but they won't even listen and keep repeating their memorized sentence again and again. I guess they memorized it becuase so many customer call complaining abt it. Nikon 7266 Action 10 X 40 mm Binoculars
These binoculars are great . . . when they work. I tested them out immediately after receiving them and was very pleased with them. I put them back in the box and they sat for 2 months. Take them out again, the alignment shot. Send them in for warranty service, was informed they were not covered since this constitutes a 'damaged' item. How I could have damaged them by not moving them for 2 months is beyond me.
This makes it seem like a very, very cheap product and Nikon's warranty service was most unhelpful.

I'm no expert when it comes to these things. I bought them to watch my daughter's crew races from approximately 1000 meters distance. The images are sharp and perfect for the distance. It is a solid piece of gear at a great price. I couldn't be more satisfied.
