Digital camera Review: Monarch ATB Summary: 5 Stars
I am a varmint(groundhog) hunter. My binoculars are used constantly during a day afield. Glass quality is important, focus and ergonomics are critical, light weight is important, durability is critical, and the weatherproofing is critical as a summer rain is hard to predict- my Nikon's have all these requirements in spades. One good thing I have noticed is I don't have eye strain nor headhaches after a long day of hunting. The Monarch ATB's are the very best binoculars I have ever owned. The lens covers are junk, but who cares? I threw away all of my other binoculars lens cover, too. I got a really good deal on mine- Nikon is coming out with a new lens coating system called die-electric on the Monarch line, so this model is the original #7432 (but brand new). My primary use of binoculars is looking at the edges of crop fields; into the hedgerows and shadows of overgrown vegetation where small brown furry things (groundhogs) are hiding several hundred yards away- that requires the high contrast resolution of high quality glass with premium coatings that my Monarch ATBs have makes it easy to distinguish the groundhogs much better than the lessor quality binoculars I have used.
Digital camera Review: NIKON 7432 BINOCULARS - AWESOME!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC BINOCULARS. SUPER CRISP VIEWS, ONE HAND OPERATION (AT LEAST FOR ME),WELL WORTH THE MONEY. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH PRAISES ABOUT THEM. WENT TO ALASKA CRUISE FOR 7 DAYS - TRIP WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS SPECTACULAR WITHOUT THEM.
Digital camera Review: Nice and compact Summary: 4 Stars
I got these to replace my bigger, heavier, more powerful 12x50 binocs which weren't too good for close-in birdwatching. These are nice and lightweight and still strong enough for 90% of what I need. I do agree with another reviewer that at distance they seem to have a bit of an aura around the bird I'm trying to watch. In my case, that bird is usually on the water, so I don't know if that has something to do with it. End lens caps are attached so you can't loose them, but in the wind they do get in the way. I haven't done it yet, but I'll probably end up cutting them off. All-in-all I'm happy with the weight, function and value.
Digital camera Review: Nikon 10 x 42 Binocular Summary: 5 Stars
Great for bird watching. Optional carrying strap helps. I can adjust it so
my Nikon SLR hangs above it & both are readily accessable.
