Digital camera Review: Great sturdy camera!

I received this camera as a Christmas gift last year. It's still my first digital camera, but back then I was quite intimidated by it. Turns out I had nothing to fear! The manual is very helpful, especially with the "Scene" settings. My favorite is the "beach" setting, it does an amazing job capturing the waves! It does seem sensitive to motion, and the "image is blurry" screen can be annoying if you want to take a bunch of pictures quick, but it's only bothered me once in important situations.

I always have this camera with me in my purse. I don't have a protective cover, except the thin compartment pocket that purses have one or two of these days. It's quite beat up actually, but still works like a dream. In a year of use, there are no scratches on the lens or screen (yipee!). Actually, I'm amazed at how well it's still working- once I accidentally spilled some cola in my purse and got the camera wet, but it still works! Sure the lens cover sticks sometimes, but that's 'user misuse' lol.

The video option is great! As a dancer, I'm always busting this little guy out to record choreography. The sound is good and I've recorded 20 videos before. I'm sure it could do more, when I put in the memory card, it'll say '1 hr 15min left' WOW! The only downfall is that once I've uploaded it to my laptop, the video is small, and if I try to view it full screen it get's blurry. But it IS 5 MP afterall.

My only complaint is that it takes crummy night sky photos (lol, only I would want to do that). But it takes FANTASTIC day shots, especially if there are clouds- the colors are quite vibrant, and I have a ton of these that I use as desktop backgrounds.

Oh, and in a year I've only changed out the batteries three times - SWEET! (Note: video recording will eat up battery life I've noticed!)
