Digital camera reviews of Nikon Coolpix L20 10MP Digital Camera with 3.6 Optical Zoom and 3 inch LCD, (Deep Red)Digital camera Review: Big bang for the buck Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this camera because Fantasea had a custom underwater case for it and I was heading to Grand Cayman
The unit takes excellent pictures out of the water and good pictures in it-Deeper you go the bluer they get - You need a $40 red filter for some balance (or a $4/5000 pro model with an arm load of lighting gear) - Next year we will have the filter
For those complaining about out of focus, READS THE BOOK and use AUTO rather then EASY Auto
Digital camera Review: Blurry Pictures Summary: 1 Stars
Bought this for my teenage daughter for Christmas. It has taken almost all blurry pictures. Read the reviews after I bought it and see this is a common problem. Returning it. Would not buy another one.
Digital camera Review: Blurry! Summary: 1 Stars
This is not my first digital camera. In fact, I work at an animal shelter and take pictures of the pets for the website. So I'm not an idiot and I know how to use a camera. This camera takes HORRIBLE pictures. There are almost too many settings and I still can't tell the difference between them. It blows through batteries like water (probably because it takes forever to find the right setting). It "went to sleep" on me several times - didn't shut off, but wouldn't respond when I tried to take a photo, which caused me to miss several opportunities for shots. But most of all, when pictures of stationary objects come out blurry (and I have a steady hand) - it must be the camera. I am taking this one back to the store!
Digital camera Review: Blurry, unusable pics Summary: 1 Stars
Before purchasing electronics, I usually research the product extensively. My daughter needed a camera quick, so we purchased this camera and trusted the Nikon name. My daughter (18 years old and taking photos her whole life) took about 250 photos. I downloaded them to the computer and about 1/2 of them were blurry! I thought it was "user error." So many good pictures were unusable because of a focus isssue. A multitude of excuses as to why she took such blurry pictures, so I took over. I usually take pics with my Canon S5 IS (which I love). I took a picture of a still subject while the camera was sitting on the table and it was still blurry!
Bottom line- We returned the camera and will purchase something better. I've read the other reviews and apparently this is not a problem in every L20. It seems to be a quality control issue on the assembly line.
Digital camera Review: Bob's review of the Nikon L20 Summary: 5 Stars
The camera was received earlier than expected and performs as I expected a Nikon product to perform. It is very easy to download pictures to the software provided. The camera is extremely good value and the 3" view of pictures on the back is fantastic.
