Digital camera reviews of Nikon Coolpix S220 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and 2.5 inch LCD (Graphite Black)

Digital camera Review: Great travel camera
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this camera mainly for it's compactness. And it fill that bill very well, plus it has lot of features that are real nice. The only down side is picture quality is a little off.But I have other cameras for that. It's great for spontanious picture taking.

Digital camera Review: Horrible Indoor Photos
Summary: 2 Stars

I have had many digital cameras in the past 10 years and I have to say this is the worst camera I've ever had. It takes awful indoor photos. The flash is not strong enough and every single indoor photo is blurry and/or yellow in color. I've called Nikon and made sure all my setting were the factory defaults and I've tried using all the different flash options but nothing really seems to help. VERY disappointed in this camera.

Digital camera Review: Horrible picture quality
Summary: 1 Stars

This camera is great looking and a good portable size - "cute" would be the word to describe it. But when you see the images from the camera, you will be appalled, especially given the price of the camera. I got mine nice and cheap, but looking at the prices at various stores (saw it for $200 in one) there is no way the price is justified. I compared the photos from my s220 with my Nokia 6500 Slide 3.3MP phone, and I kid you not, the quality of the photos is the same. I love Nikon SLR cameras (I have a d700), but they really need to improve the quality of their compacts. I am never buying a Nikon compact again.

Digital camera Review: Initial Happiness followed by disappointment
Summary: 3 Stars

I am brand new to photography, so I wanted an inexpensive, simple, point and shoot camera that gives good quality pictures. I thought I'd found it with the Nikon Coolpix -- my daughter took our first one to Australia and loved it, so I bought one for myself. I am very happy with the picture quality. I found the controls less than intuitive, though, and I don't know how to do all that I want to do with the camera or all that it's capable of doing. I suppose a more experienced photographer would suss it out without thinking, but then, an experienced photographer is probably not buying a starter camera like this.

I am profoundly disappointed that after a mere four months the screen's gone blank. It still takes pictures -- but nothing shows in the screen. I can't see what I'm framing, I can't see the shot after I've taken it, I can't review the shots. The screen is either blank white or sometimes a flickering grayscale. A search of the web has not turned up any information about dead screens that I can find. I really think the lifespan of an inexpensive camera ought to be more than four months.

There is no visible damage to the screen, so no obvious explanation for why the screen doesn't work. The camera has never gotten wet -- and I checked to make certain it was water-resistant before buying it. The worst thing that's ever happened to it was being used to shoot pictures in fog and high humidity (a frequent occurrence while at sea, or ashore).

Digital camera Review: It doesn't fullfill my expectations!!!
Summary: 4 Stars

When I bought this point and shoot, I tought I was getting the best for the price, since it's a nikon, but after using it and surf trough all the picture settings I'm a little dissapointed because when using any of the preset scine settings, mostly portrait setting, I get really yellow pictures, I don't mean a little sun tan sort of yellow, I mean really chicken yellow images, faces, background, wites, blacks, everything gets yellow tainted, just horrible... To be honest that did not happend with my previos point and shoot, Kodak Z670, indcredible but true, I don't regreat having buying it.

In the bright sight it's really simple to use, the menu and the settings are really friendly, easy access for the iso settings, great wite balances. The body is slick and beutifull, stylish and light wighted, really ergonomic, I bought it because I have a Nikon D40X, wich I love, but my only problem is that is too big and some times is unconfurtable to take it to parties or places where you won't have a lot of room to work with it, so I find my new S220 convinient to solve this problem, as long as I shoot in auto is just perfect.

So if someone can give me a hint to solve my yellowish problem, please let me know... I do recomend it, the battery life is great.
