If you are one that cherishes taking photos of precious moments in an instant than this camera isnt for you. There is a lag to turn the camera on then then anther lag when the camera attempts to focus and shoot. If you have children then dont' get this, you'll lose out on those natural/unposed/instant shots. Product is also Made in China and build quality is not as solid as my old Fuji Finepix V10. ON/OFF Button is Raised and not flush with the body so it always goes on in my pocket. Pass on this item and look into a Casio (Zero shutter lag), Canon (Solid and Made in Japan) or Finepix (Option to take 2 simultaneous photo's with and without flash at once).Digital camera Review: Marines Dream camera

We purchased this camera for my son, a marine , who is going to Iraq soon.He needed something that could stand the brunt of being crunched in his pocket or withstand temperature fluctuations and at the same time be a very small item to carry since he is already carrying up to 120 lbs on his 165 lb frame.This camera is thinner than a deck of cards and so light that you could forget you were carrying it.Plus he likes the color black.So far the pictures are extremely clear and the window on the back is larger than most. My mother has this camera, except it is the 6mp version. She paid $250 in Circuit City. I have been wanting to steal it from her for years, but I was in college, so every time she offered to buy me one I told her to just send me the money, lol.
Anyway, I spent several hours doing my research. I read every single customer review. Some of the reviews are misleading. The complaints that a lot of people have about many of these cameras is that they don't read the manual. Either that or they just don't get it. My sister had a long love/hate relationship with a lot of her electronics and it took her forever to figure them out. Now she loves them all.
So, yes, I think there are a lot of better, more fancy, etc cameras out there.... but not for this price. I am not a shopper who searches for the lowest price. That's stupid. I search for the item that offers the most bang for the buck (value + quality). My mom has had her camera for 3 years and has never had a problem. My cousin has one, but hers is a much older model and hers has lasted forever! This camera rocks!

I bought this camera for my wife as a graduation present. I normally shoot with a Nikon D70 and I really prefer to look through a lens to frame my shot then with my arms extended looking at a LCD display. However this has a BIG 3 inch display and optical image stabilization, which is much better then electronic. I takes really good photos, and the different scene modes are really good for different photo opportunities.
