Luego de tener durante casi un año una D40 como mi primera DLSR, pase a comprarme una D60. En el cuerpo es exactamente igual a la D40. La que yo compre trae dos lente lo que ya significa mayor amplitud en la posibilidad de las fotografías. Sinceramente una de las cosas mas resaltantes como el Auto Limpiador es lo que menos cuenta te das que es una innovacion. Quizas lo mas importante es el tamaño de las fotos que pasa de 6 Mp a 10Mp. La lectura de las fotos es significativamente mas lenta y eso me imagino se debe al tamaño de las mismas, aunque si bajas la calidad de la foto en la D60 a 6Mp aun sigue siendo mas enta que la D40. La implementación de Skylight como botón es muy practico, hasta el manejo de los botones para las funciones a mejorado, se puede hacer utilidad de las funciones de manera mas rápida.
La calidad de las fotos es mucho mejor en la D60 que en la D40, la profundidad de los colores y la definición evidentemente es mucho mejor.

I received the camera Nikon D60 a day before my Bright angel hike to the Grand canyon. I have previously own a SLR however this is my first Digital SLR. Though I was still experimenting during my tedious hike, i was able to take beautiful pictures. I love the quality of the pictures, the features of the camera enable me to retouch my photo, especially while I am experimenting my camera.
There is only one thing that I wasn't satisfied with the sale deal. The battery charger came in the voltage of 110V, that means that I may not be able to use when I am travelling to some places in Asia. I thought that all cameras charger should come with dual voltages. That means the camera can be use world wide I was not able to source the dual voltage charger here, can anyone help me with that.

It is an excellent trade of by the price you pay because you get very good quality pictures, good performance of the camera under poor light conditions (I had a coolpix 5700 before), user friendly menus to make adjustments and the auto mode lets "anybody" to use the camera although it is a professional one.Digital camera Review: Fantastic Intro to DSLR

The Nikon D60 has proven to me to be a fantastic beginner's DSLR, while it can hardly be labeled a beginner's camera since it is more than capable of running with the higher models. It does, however, lack some of the features that give the more expensive brands their appeal, and high price tag.
For what you get with this model; high quality photographs, durability, small and lightweight body; the price is unbeatable. The difference in quality from the D60 and the higher level DSLRs can only be seen if you have already mastered the techniques of digital photography, and are looking for the next step. I would not recommend a newcomer to DSLR photography puchasing anything much higher than the D60 to start with, otherwise you may be wasting money that could be put towards a more powerful lens.
The D60 has proven it's durability to me in the field, as I have dropped it on the ground and worst of all, fell into a stream with it around my neck in Yosemite National Park. I dried it off and it was like new. Excellent quality.
