I have used Nikon SLR's for 30 years with my last one being a F5. In recent years I've used a number of "point and shoot" digitals including the Nikon swivel bodied CoolPIX 950 and 4500. The way technology changes so quickly I couldn't see spending the money on a D3. When the D90 dropped to 799.00 I jumped on it. I'm taking pro quality photos again. The D90 is AWESOME! I just bought the body and am using the 35-70 2.8 and 80-200 2.8 lenses I use on my F5. The weight of the lens gives the D90 a feel similar to my F5. The more I use it the more I love it. What a great value!

It's new, it's exciting and it's fun to use. Matrix metering, center weighted metering and spot metering are all very good. Autofocus works very well even with long telephoto lenses. Works well with Nikon DX lenses as well as some of the older lenses I purchased for my film camera. No complaints yet about this body. This camera is an upgrade for my D70, which I dearly love. Short and simple, this camera is awesome. the 3D focus is amazing and the ease of the controls are very intuitive. Of course if you have a D70, you have a slight learning curve since some of the buttons are in a different location (such as bracket) or button driven rather than menu driven...
I was looking at the D300 and the D90, and for the price as well as features, the D90 won out. Ken Rockwell gave high marks for the D90 as well, which helped my decision.
You won't be disappointed with this camera!
