Digital camera reviews of Nikon D90 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only)Digital camera Review: Best Camera Ever! GO NIKON Summary: 5 Stars
So let me first start by saying that before I bought this camera I made a mistake and bought the Nikon D3000. Now I am not bashing or putting down the D3000 at all its a great camera, but very limited. I guess I should have expected that from a "Beginner" level camera. If your looking from a step up from a P&S camera or just getting into DSLR's the D3000 is probly for you. My problems were had to go into menus for everything including ISO settings and everything. I could talk about it all day. I sold it as quickly as I bought it. NOW!!!! ON TO THE D90. This is the best camera (IMO) EVER! I was looking to buy a D300, but had few people tell me the D90 was basically the same thing in just a little lighter and smaller body. Since buying the D90 about 1 or 2 months ago, along with the nikon 70-300mm VR and Nikon 50mm 1.8. I LOVE IT. I use this camera every single day indoors and out. All the buttons I need are right at my finger tips (WB, ISO, shooting modes S,CL,CH all this with out having to go into the menu. Very bright and nice 920K 3" LCD Screen is amazing. My Menu is another great little custom menu setup so you can put all your favorite/most used Menu settings on One Page. One last thing the D90 make the old manual focus lens autofocs. 4.5 fps and great optics, plus all the buttons right at your finger tips make this camera an A+++. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO IS SERIOUS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD SHOOTING
Digital camera Review: Best Camera For The Money! $ for $,,,You Will Not Do Better! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought a Nikon 300s at BestBuy, but returned it because it was so darn heavy. However, it had stunning, image quality! When I learned that the D90 has the same processor, I picked it up at Amazon (cheapest body only price). It is amazing. The image quality is every bit as good as the 300s, which is a pro caliber camera. The D90 is not magnesium alloy like the 300s, but who cares. According to my research, polycarbonate is very tough (plus, metal cameras can get dented, polycarbonate cameras will not). I don't even need or use the video feature of this camera, so video is unimportant to me. If you want a semi-pro camera that is zero compromise in terms of image quality--get the D90. It makes even mundane photos look 'artsy'. I use the sweet 18-200mm vrII lens. Killer camera--get one!
Digital camera Review: Best Camera Yet Summary: 4 Stars
Even though I have had other digital cameras before ,this is the first d-slr I have owned. I am happy with the camera so far.Even though it is a little inconvenient with the size, I find that it is worth the inconvenince to make good photos.
Low light situations I recommend going to manual focus. The auto focus in these situations will leave you missing the shot. Still shots in low light are no problem if on manual .
Multiple fps in good light will amaze you at what you can capture. I have tried the video feature and the quality is very good ,however using the zoom while videoing is a little cumbersome.
I am presently using 2 sdhd memory cards / 6 write speeds and I have no problem capturing photos even using 4 fps setting.
Digital camera Review: Best Nikon camera for the price, love it Summary: 5 Stars
I will not put down cannon's, but I have owned 6 Nikons and they "feel" better, the buttons are where you need them. For a very complex camera its functions are fairly intuitive. It allows me to take pictures that are better than I could ever have take before. Whenever I pick up my camera there is the knowledge that I can take a photo and expand it to the size of a poster and it will still look professional. It is difficult to believe the details this camera brings out. Before you buy go to a camera shop and feel all the cameras you can. Most of the features in this camera came from the Nikon D300.
Digital camera Review: Best Nikon for the dollar Summary: 5 Stars
I own the D80 and D40 and love them both. The D90 is just an outstanding camera in so many ways. What I like the most about this camera is the ease of use. It is by far the easiest camera in the Nikon line yet. The large LCD screen allows me to see exactly what I am doing at all times. For me, over 40 years old, I have a hard time seeing the small top mounted LCD so I love this large one in back. The navigation is so well done and you can navigate all your important settings with a few simple clicks. As for the actual photos....it's a Nikon - so they are great! My only word of caution is to beware of the high ISO capability of this camera. At 3200 ISO I personally do not like the quality of my indoor low light photos of people. The colors are very harsh. So I set it to a max of 1600 when I'm shooting people and I get much better looking images. Other than that it is a great camera. In all honesty the D40 takes just as good of pictures, but the D90 is more fun to use. So if you love your gadgets get this camera you won't be sorry. If money is a primary concern, then go with the D40; it's a great low cost camera -for $550 with two kitted lenses you can't go wrong. If you are eying a D80, then get the D90 instead as it is well worth the extra money.
