Digital camera reviews of Nikon EN-EL4a Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for MB-D10 Battery Pack and Nikon D2 and D3 Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Packaging)

Digital camera Review: Very Impressive
Summary: 5 Stars

When I purchased my D3x I also bought 2 of these as extra backup. After using my D3x extensively in Greece I found I really didn't need the extra batteries. On one charge I was taking 700+ photos per day casual shooting and I still had 75% charge left!!! This battery is quite amazing. I calibrated all three during charging and the accuracy is impressive, along with the information display of the number of shots taken on a charge. Highly recommend the quality and performance.

Digital camera Review: Well worth the cost
Summary: 5 Stars

This item is packed with power to spare. In my D300 I can easily shoot well over three thousand picturers on a charge. I purchased a second MB-10 to use on really big shoots.

Digital camera Review: Works great with the MB-D10, Expensive
Summary: 4 Stars

This works great for the D700 in the MB-D10 battery grip. Its expensive which is why its not a five star (lets face it, its hard not rate something with a single, simple purpose five stars....).

Its large, slightly heavy.. but much less than carrying lots of AA batteries around. It pumps the D700 to 8FPS with the grip, and the capacity is very good as well, being able to shoot all day. Call me crazy too, but I swear the shutter sounds better with it... I have gone back and forth with the normal battery and this one... and for some reason it sounds different.

Other than the fact that its expensive, if you plan on moving up to a full pro body, at least you can take the battery with you.

I don't recommend this to everyone, because I feel most people with only use the grip for FPS and AAs when they need it... but for more the comfort and speed to shoot vertical is very important to me, so the grip is on almost 100% of the time.

Digital camera Review: Works with my film camera as well
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the battery, along with the associated charger and battery cover to work with my MB-40 on my Nikon F6. Unfortunately, I had to order it through B&H since Amazon.com wouldn't ship the charger to Hawaii (seems no one has clued Amazon that HAWAII is part of the US).
