Digital camera reviews of Nikon MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack for Nikon D300 & D700 Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Packaging)Digital camera Review: Excellent Battery Grip for your D300/D700! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using this battery grip on my D700 for a few weeks now and I am very happy with it. Since the D700 uses a different battery than the D3 I don't have the luxury of the ENL4 battery to get the 8FPS so I have been using the good old fashioned AA's to get the speed. It's kind of disappointing that for the price that they don't include the battery cap for the ENL4 when I do decide to get it. It just means one more added expense. As for the grip itself, it is very well constructed. I have used it several times in conjunction with an R-strap from Blackrapid and it works great. I initially wasn't sure how sturdy it would be with only one screw holding the grip onto the body with the R-strap on, but after using it on a few photo-walks, it seems to be fine and no sign of undue stress on the mounting point. Overall, I am very happy with it. I've elected to keep it on constantly now and while it does add some bulk to the overall kit, I shoot vertical often so its worth it for me.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Grip Summary: 5 Stars
I didn't think I needed this grip before. At some point I decided to get one, mainly because I do a lot of portrait work. I am so glad I picked this up. It really is more comfortable to hold it on the side when doing portraits instead of wrapping my hand over the top. It has a shutter release, AF-ON button, command and subcommand dials, and even a multi-selector. So you have access to the controls while holding the camera in the portrait orientation.
The battery tray slides out the side and you can switch between a tray that holds an extra EN-EL3e battery or a different tray that holds 8 AA batteries. If you use the 8 AA batteries then you get an extra couple frames per second. You can also purchase a tray for the EN-EL4a battery and use one of those if you want and get the extra frames per second that way.
Anyhow, this grip was a great addition to my kit and I completely thrilled with it.
Digital camera Review: Excellent addition! Great build quality! Summary: 5 Stars
The MB-D10 is made very well and a lot of engineering thought was put into the final product. Set up was a snap and the engineers even came up with the clever storage idea for the rubber seal that you have to take off of the D300 to attach it to the camera.
The grip feels great in my hand. Very solid piece of equipment. The design is such that the attachment looks and feels as one with the D300.
The only "very slight" flaw is the locking ring that you use to turn and tighten the attachment to the D300 is loose...not sure if it is supposed to be this way. It's a very minor annoyance since the wheel lock does what it is supposed to do.
I don't regret this purchase whatsoever!
Digital camera Review: Excellent conditions, but not compete Summary: 4 Stars
The grip is in excellent conditions and work ok, but are missing some items, that was present in the original package.
Items missing:
MS-D10EN holder for EN-EL3 batteries;
Contact cap;
Holder case.
Digital camera Review: Excellent option for D700 Summary: 5 Stars
This battery grip is a great optional gear for Nikon D700 as it allows to shoot at 8fps with EN-EL4a battery for action photography. Solid construction and fits well onto D700.
