Digital camera reviews of Nikon MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack for Nikon D300 & D700 Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Packaging)

Digital camera Review: Excellent quality but...
Summary: 3 Stars

The overall quality of the grip is exceptional. This is not a cheap plastic grip. It is rubberized, sturdy and sealed and comes with an insert for 8 AA batteries and a second insert for a EN-EL3 battery. The second dial works great. It's very comfortable (ergonomic)
The only flaw (and it's a big one if you ask me) is that the shutter button on the grip is way more sensitive than the one on the camera. Very annoying for this expensive product.

Digital camera Review: Exellent Grip
Summary: 5 Stars

I've now had my grip for a few months and have used it with my D300 and currently with the D700. I love the flexibility that the grip provides. It allows you to easily shoot in portrait orientation, of course provides longer battery life, and gives some heft and balance to the D300/700 body, which helps give you a more solid/stable body to handle. Yes, it does add weight, but when you want to go light, you don't use it. But when I do go light, I do miss it! The grip is well constructed out of the same high quality magnesium allow as the camera bodies. There is also a good amount of rubber to grip, which increases comfort. If you are a sports shooter, you can increase the FPS of your D300/700 up to 8 (from default 5) by using 8AA batteries, or the ENEL4 battery (+ new chamber cover). I opted for a third party solution from eBay, the Phottix Cleon which accomplishes the same performance for a fraction of the price. To me this is a must have for D300/700 users. Enjoy!

Digital camera Review: Expensive but worth it
Summary: 5 Stars

If you shoot with longer lenses (like my 70-200 2.8) and have to handhold them, this is a Godsend.

It's very solid, comfortable, and feels "right".

Buy it, you'll love it!

Digital camera Review: Expensive, but needed
Summary: 3 Stars

As a sports photographer the grip is a must for the 8fps as well as the ease of going vertical with your shots. The grip works well with the AA batteries. The only thing (and thusly why the 3 starts instead of 5) is that for what it is, it is way over priced. For $230ish, it should be a tank, but the battery trays are kind of cheap plastic in my opinion.

Digital camera Review: Feels good to hold
Summary: 4 Stars

I like the feel of the grip when taking vertical pictures. I like the ability to add the larger battery and really run my Nikon to it's limit. I never need to worry about running out of power with the EN-EL4 in the grip. I go on week long vacations without the charger and take 100's and 100's of pictures without a problem. Of course knowing that I can just insert some AA'a in the grip gives me some added confidence. The 4 star rating is for the costs. By the time you buy the grip, the EN-EL4 battery, charger, and plug you're out $500.00
