Digital camera reviews of Noisebuster (NB-FX) Noise Canceling Headphones

Digital camera Review: Peace and Quiet
Summary: 5 Stars

Here to Hong Kong and back several times. This product saved the day. Not dead quiet but a big enough impact to make sure I was comfortable and undisturbed. Managed to sleep 9 hours on one flight. Didn't hear a thing.

Digital camera Review: Smaller, lighter and cheaper than the Bose-but works as well
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had a pair of the previous older model of the NoiseBuster for several years. I have traveled extensively (almost 2 million miles) on the airlines, many with the little airline supplied headsets delivering a poor sound, painfully. The NoiseBuster headphone will make you incredulous that you are getting high quality sound from an airplane sound system! Who would have guessed it possible. I now use it with my iPod as well, on or off the airplane. The noise cancellation feature even improves the already high quality iPod sound.

I borrowed a friend's Bose headphones for two flights thinking they must be better than the far cheaper NoiseBuster, but they are not. The Bose does have ear cups that will completely cover your ears (well, most ears) for an 'isolation booth' type experience, but the sound is not better with the Bose, as far as I can tell. And the NoiseBuster is small enough to put into a briefcase or (if you carry one) a purse. The Bose is pretty big and needs to be in its own case. The NoiseBuster will fit into the pocket in the seatback in front of you.

If small size, high functionality, travel convienence and price are factors for you the NoiseBuster is the right choice.

Digital camera Review: The best value for the money
Summary: 5 Stars

After trying several brands I purchased a pair of Noisebuster's more than 3 years ago and I have to say that they are still the best value headphone when you want to disconnect from the outer world in noisy places. I usually wear them at the office while working which allows me to listen to music at the same time at a good quality (I mean, connected to a computer music system, you get very decent sound).

I also own a pair of Bose QuietComfort which I bought on a later date which work prety well too. The Bose are superior if you want to listen to music in a better quality system (I own a Harman Kardon equipment and Bose speakers), but all in all I consider the noisebusters of better value for what I paid and very very close to the Bose on reducing the external noise.

In net, I am definitively purchasing a new Noisebuster pair to replace my first set which is already showing signs of aging and would recommend the NB to anybody.

Digital camera Review: They're just plain good
Summary: 5 Stars

I was initially a bit hesitant in buying $70 headphones which I couldn't try on, and from a company I've never heard of. But to my surprise and relief, I found these headphones were great in doing exactly what I needed them to do, provide great sound while minimizing outside noises.

The first thing to note about these headphones is that the earphones have an open ear design. This is done by not having the ear piece completely enclosed, but partially "open". The result is a more warm, natural, detailed sound. The noise cancellation feature is powered by one AAA battery which should last for roughly 10-15 hrs. With the noise cancellation enabled, the quality of sound noticeably increases to such a point where you'll probably have it on whenever your using it.

I was also able to take the headphones with me on a trip in which I spent 25+ hrs on 5 different planes (good times...), and I can truly say that they were effectively able to block out most of the background noise. All this being said, I highly recommend these headphones and if you can afford it, I sugest you buy them.

Update: Its now November 2007, and I can say these are very durable headphones.

Digital camera Review: worth every penny
Summary: 5 Stars

These headphones are fantastic. I didn't find them uncomfortable at all. I bought a much more expensive pair AFTER these for my husband thinking they would be even better than these..NOT. These were BETTER than the ones I paid another $75 extra for!
Not only does it make the flight more relaxing, without the constant back ground noise you will not get jetlag! Who knew! My doctor told me this so I tried it out. Absolutely true!! I listen to music with the headphones or just enjoy the quiet. I use them at home and it cuts out air conditioning noise or mutes the TV enough if I don't want to hear what my husband is watching!
It comes with the plug for the airlines or use it with your own music system. Test it yourself, lift the ear piece away for a second or turn the on button back to off. Listen to that roar! Its draining. I won't be without these headsets again! Well worth the money! I can't say that for the more expensive brand.
