Digital camera reviews of NorCross HawkEye F33P Fish FinderDigital camera Review: Can't beat the features 4 the price. Summary: 5 Stars
Put in lithium batteries as alkaline does not work well in cold. So far this fishfinder does its job.
Digital camera Review: Compact and easy to use. Summary: 4 Stars
Very compact and easy to use with my kayak when fishing. I like that I can use rechargeable batteries than a heavier battery inside of my SOT kayak.
Digital camera Review: Cool Device -- No more Guessing Summary: 4 Stars
My son and I used this cool device on our recent fishing trip and it performed well. We spotted fish concentrations with ease in no time. This device is handy especially if you are renting a boat and have no time to waste to catch fish quickly. I love this device.
However, I would also like to see some product enhancements though.
1. Include a SAVE SETTING feature - this device does not save your settings. You have to re-set it each time you power up.
2. Include an instant fish depth numerical screen readout. The current design has graphical boxes that you have to arithmetically calculate each time it spots fishes (i.e. divide the depth by ten and multiply the shaded depth indicator box on the screen). No time for math --- only fishing!!
Digital camera Review: Cool toy! Summary: 4 Stars
This is great if you aren't moving too fast on the water. It tends to point slightly behind you. I wish it showed individual fish, but only shows schools of fish with one indicator. All things being equal, this unit is fun and informative for the money.
One other note: If the bottom is covered with lots of plantlife, it has difficulty determining the actual depth.
My recommendation? If you are looking for a 'gadget' to help you see what's down there and don't have a lot of money, buy it. It is fun while on a pontoon, dock, or float tube.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Device that works like a charm Summary: 5 Stars
I chose to buy this device based on the good review from other people who purchased it before. I took it out to a lake on a boat and it works very well. It gives the depth of the location and under water structure if it exists, or weed bed when it is present. When the fish swims by, it can let you know the depth of the fish just swimming by. After I observed the pattern of the fish depth, I set the hook/worm at the right depth and immediately we caught 1 striped bass and 2 rainbow trouts within 20 minutes, each worm caught a fish. The device really helps a lot, more than I can image. In the past when we went fishing in a lake (w/o this device) without knowing where the fish is and just relying on "guessing", we would not have such a luck. With anout $50 at Amazon, this is a must have item if you plan to go boat-fishing on a lake. It will save you lots of try-and-error time and save you the frustration.
