Digital camera reviews of NorCross HawkEye F33P Fish Finder

Digital camera Review: Great Little Device
Summary: 5 Stars

First, I need to admit that this is my first fish finder, so I can't really compare it to the more expensive, full-feature models, but it met and exceeded all of my expectations. I bought it to use on a canoe trip for locating lake trout in deep water during the middle of the summer. It worked great. I used the broomstick adapter and rigged up a simple mount with a PVC pipe joint and sticks we found around the campsite, and attached it to the canoe with duct tape. Using this setup, we were able to monitor depth and spot individual fish. I'm convinced that the device was truly marking fish, since we tended to catch fish where the device said they were. This gadget is ideal for canoe trip fishing, and the price is right.

For the price of this unit you can't go wrong! Used it ice fishing and it worked great.Love the size of it but yet it is easy to read. Would highly recommend this to anyone

Digital camera Review: Great Portable Depth/Fish Finder
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for an inexpensive fish finder to use for my canoe and had read some positive things about the Hawkeye so I purchased it. Its fairly simple to use and it works just fine. Shows the depth, which appears to be very close. It also shows fish and their depth along with debris/grass on the bottom, which you can change the sensitivity for different water types (clear to murky). The only negative thing I can say about it is the plug from the sonar to the unit. You think its pushed in all the way but you get no readings, so you push it in harder and although it doesn't feel like it moved, it starts working. There are a couple of spots in the manual where they stress to push it in hard and check it first if it doesn't work, so I assume the bad design has caused a lot of complaints in the past. All in all though, I recommend it as a great fish finder for the money.

Digital camera Review: Great for Kayak and small boat fishing.
Summary: 4 Stars

I finally got to use this now the lakes are unfrozen around here. I've gotten to use this in a river and on a few lakes now. It pick up the fish realy well in both it takes a little getting used to. The rock sensor comes on if there is anything solid under you, you have to figure if its a tree, big rock or something else. Weed sensor is pretty accurate also it will read even a tiny bit of weeds under you. The depth is very accurate also just can't troll the sensor very fast or it will read sideways in the water. Only thing I wish this fish finder told you was the size of the fish. It picks up the fish you just have to figure out what it is. I was picking up everything from schools of fish to a lone fish in 19ft of water just couldn't tell what they were had to catch them to see what they were. Thats the only reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars. It seems fairly durable as far as waterproof I'm not dipping it in the lake to find out it did get a few splashes from paddling on the kayak and still works perfectly. I like this finder cause you dont have to lug a big or buy and expensive battery for it and is very easy to carry with you. It is not a burden in my kayak this finder is perfect for anyone looking for a cheap and small model for a small boat.

Digital camera Review: Great item for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I was hesitant at first to order this, because of the low price. I thought it must be junk or poorly made to be so cheap. Man, was I ever wrong. I turned it on, cast it out by hand and within seconds it started giving me the depth readings and showed debris on the bottom. Then a fish came swimming by, then a bit later two fish, next to each other. All I have to say, is it's a great item. I love it! It's high quality made and worth much more. I believe it out-performs fish locator's that cost several hundreds of dollars.
