Summary: 5 Stars
Hard to pass these up at $50. Everything I read is spot on. Nice warm tone. Bass is tight and has a decent punch. Be sure to get a proper seal before you judge them (goes for any IEM). Bit too much treble for me, but my ears are sensitive too it - I think most would be okay with it.
I'm using these with my iPhone 3G, set to volume to about 50% and it drives them fine, and having the headset functionality is handy.
My first IEM's, so I don't have anything to compare them too, but I do have my full-sized Sennheiser HD555's. The ne-7m's are every bit as pleasing to listen to, and far more portable, but won't be replacing the Sennheisers for home listening just yet. I've heard they really shine after ~100 hours burn-in, so we'll see.
Microphonics (noise heard when the cord rubs on something, i.e your shirt) are present, but the included clip mostly negates that problem.
Noise Isolation is good, I've heard it's -20db, but in practical terms its enough to block out most, but not all surrounding noise. You can faintly hear someone talking to you, or other 'loud' noises, but in a normal room everything goes silent.
Oh and for Canadians, shipping to Canada took about 2 weeks from the order date.
