Digital camera reviews of Nyrius NY-GS3200 5.8GHz 6 Channel Wireless Audio/Video Sender Transmitter & Receiver System with IR Remote ExtenderDigital camera Review: Good news, not so good news Summary: 3 Stars
The good news is that it works as advertised except the infrared remote repeater does nothing - nothing for the cable control, nothing for the television control. The bad news is that any movement anywhere near the path between the transmitter and receiver breaks the signal with a loud KHHKTT and visual break as well. Walking into the path does it, towling off after a shower does it (ours is aimed at a TV in the bathroom) and wagging dog tails does it as well.
Digital camera Review: Good value, good performance Summary: 4 Stars
I am 90% pleased with the transmitter. I have a satellite system in my RV and one at home. I never need both simultaneously. I figured I could transmit the video/audio from my RV when parked at home and cancel the account in my house. The 5.8GHz Wireless Audio Video Sender Transmitter & Receiver works like a charm - sending clear, stable audio and video about 300 feet to my house. Unfortunately the built in IR Extender does not enjoy the same very good range. I ended up moving the RV to a parking spot a little closer to the house and everything works as it should. I get some intermittent audio and video interference when someone is standing on my porch at the front door - in line with the transmitter antenna. I consider this a bonus early warning feature notifying me that I'm about to receive a knock at the door! All in all a good product that performs as advertised.
Digital camera Review: Great Device Summary: 5 Stars
Works perfect for our old house. The den is adjacent to the kitchen but seperated by a thick stone wall. We wanted a tv in the kitchen while cooking because we are "news junkies", (love to cook). Hard wiring would be way too much work(been there, done that). This unit does the job just perfect with our new flat screen sony. The cable set up is in the den and with the correct angle of the receiver and transmitter, "It's Alive"..... cool.
Digital camera Review: Great Device! Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this unit to replace the 2.4GHz Leapfrog unit I used for the past four years. I am sending my Cable TV signal from my TV room to my small LCD kitchen TV, located about 18 feet away, but with two brick walls, a wooden cabinet and a refrigerator on the way. The 2.4 GHz unit worked relatively well, but there was always some degree of interference and when turning on the microwave oven, interference was really bad. So I decided for the 5.8 GHz unit. Well, couldn't make a better choice! The signal in channel 1 is just great, with no interference at all even from my 5.8 GHz wireless telephones. The remote control also works great through the remote extender. Also, my purchasing experience at Amazon met all my expectations (right product, right price, on time delivery). I highly recommend this product!
Digital camera Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
Have had the product for only two days, so cannot vouch for long term performance. I tried the Terk Leapfrong 2.4GHz, and had unresolvable interference problems. I thought maybe the more-than-double transmission rate might solve the problem, and it did, flawlessly. I get great picture and sound on any of the four available channels. The IR extender works fine, and the receiver, which picks up remote control signals, is very flexible in terms of line-of-sight. I have DirecTV HD DVR sat box, and I can control ALL functions from the audio-video wireless receiver location, including all menus, quick channel selection mode, replay of recorded source material, etc. using a Logitech Harmony One Universal remote. Obviously, since the device uses RCA cables to hook up to source and to receiving TV, I do not get HD picture, but on a small, 15" screen, that's not a problem. The IR extender "mouse" transmits IR signal perfectly, and merely needs to be somewhere in the general vicinity of the sat box IR receiving window.
I note from Amazon info that this unit is sold by Shoptronics, the device itself carries a "made in China" tag, but nowhere on either packaging or on the brief User's Manual or on the device itself is a manufacturer's name. Strange. This thing works so well, I would think someone would want to take credit for it.
