It completely does what is says. I use it for my wireless headsets which have optical in. I connected it to Blueray player and TV as Inputs. Sound quality is 100% no destortion at all. The only thing I recommend is it should have clip or something to place it stably since it is very light. I used two sided tape to fix it to table.

I have a regular 5.1 home theater in a box hooked up to my TV and cable box, but since i just purchased a new Xbox 360 Reach, i didn't have a way to capitalize the sound from the optical port. I found this for a great price and it works exactly as i had hoped!! It's a bit larger than i expected, but it's pretty flat and it works just fine. The size is acceptable considering it's a piece for fiber optic routing! either way, great product at a great price!Digital camera Review: Awesome Stuff!

This thing rocks! I have been looking in every store imaginable for a product where I could accomplish what I needed to do. You can find an optical splitter, but it only splits one digital audio signal into two receivers. I needed several digital audio signals going into one receiver. When I first found this product, I was a little skeptical since no one else locally seemed to carry one. However, after receiving it in a timely manner, I tried it out. My old optical switch was very hard to move from one input to the next. It required a lot of strength to push the button and turn the selector at the same time. The SW100 is so easy to switch! It moves very smoothly and easily from one input to the next. I also love that the optical cables click in securely and don't become disconnected at the slightest movement of the unit. I have an older receiver and this allows me to get 3 optical devices hooked up to 1 port on the receiver. All you have to do is move the switch to change the input. I have been very pleased. For the price this thing is great. The sound quality is just as good as if the devises were plugged directly into the receiver. As stated it is larger than I expected but that actually helps when making the switch, you just push the button and slide the handle around to the new input.
I would defiantly recommend.
One note: I only have a DVD player and a cable box plugged in to this, I have seen on some other reviews issues with game consoles, I can not speak to that.
