Digital camera reviews of Nyrius SW100 Digital Audio Optical Toslink 3 Input Selector Switch Compatible with Fiber Optic Cables, HDTV, Blu-ray DVD player, PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS, XBOX360, PS3Digital camera Review: Did not work from the start. Returned for Refund. Summary: 1 Stars
Purchased the product in order to run a game system and my cable system through one optical audio input on my receiver. Tried all inputs on the device, tested multiple optical audio cords, never was able to get the signal to pass through the device into my receiver. Only worked directly into the receiver. Would have been good if it worked, but sadly it did not. Returned for a refund, looking for another solution.
Digital camera Review: Didn't work Summary: 1 Stars
I could not get the product to work as advertised. Although I tried different kinds of optical cable, I could only get one port to work, never more than one. I'm back to manually switching cables.
Digital camera Review: Didn't work Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this item, plugged it in, and nothing happened. It didn't work. I contacted the company and they were nice enough to send me a second unit at no charge to me. I plugged it in, and nothing happened. I ended up sending both of the units back for a refund and purchased a much more expensive switcher that actually works.
Digital camera Review: Digital Audio Optical 3 link Summary: 5 Stars
The Toslink digital Optical 3 link was recieved via regualr mail, in a yellow medium .99 mailer. The only protection was that of the small bubble wrap in the orginial box. Looked new, I was worried that it might have been handled roughly, during shipping as it was not packed as should have been for the way it was built. For the cost of the shipping it should have been better. Item does work, but time will tell. I have it conencted to my Direct Tv, Toshiba HD DvD, Playstaion 3 and my Toshiba reciever to the DvD Optical side. No instructions, you have to snap each cable into the switchbox until you here a small click. Be careful, as the optical cables have to go in a certain way. The switchbox is not heavy, in order to switch you have to hold the device and turn the knob. For the price, not a big deal, 101 percent cheaper than buying a new reciver with three optical inputs. I have ony two on mine.
Again item is great, shipping/packaging can be improved...
Digital camera Review: Digital Audio Optical Switch Summary: 5 Stars
I have a surround audio system which I wanted to use with my cable box, Blue Ray player and TV outputs. My audio system has only one optical input so I needed a way to get three audio optical output signals to a single input. At first, I tried a spitter which was a waste of money (I was warned that it may not work with all systems since it requires only one signal be on to work properly and my cable box puts out a signal even when turned off). I decided to order the switch expecting the worst. I was concerned when I received the unit as it didn't appear to have much substance but I was surprised at how easy it was to hook up and the quality of the sound on all ports through the unit. The only negative things I can say about it is the silver color (all my equipment is black so it would blend in better if they offered a black unit) and the inconvienience of having to manually switch to the correct audio signal when needed.
