I seem to have a lot of trackball problems with the Blackberry. To send it off and have it replaced can cost $65.00. It takes all of 2 minutes to change it out and at little cost. The plastic tool is a help and instructions can be found on line.Digital camera Review: Blackberry Curve Trackball

My dad received it today and he gave it to me, I opened it and replaced it. At first it wouldn't scroll down which led me to disappointment. I was going to go back to my old trackball and keep the new ring (because my old one was scratched and it was broken). So I took out the ball again and looked at the trackball and noticed some little pieces of metal were stuck to the magnet sensors that are used to scroll. So I got my nail and removed any little dust or metal pieces and put it back and it worked perfectly! In my opinion its a good buy and I hope it will last for a long while.
The only thing is that I didn't expect was I didn't get the original 'pearl' or original color. The ball I got was black which I don't really mind but I was expecting the original one.
