Digital camera Review: 7.1 connection with limited Sound!

I connected this player to my Onkyo 5100 receiver using 8 RCA cables hoping to take full advantage of my 7.1 Surround sound but that was short lived. I received perfect surround sound (music but no vocals) after hooking it all up but received no audio in regards to vocals. Couldn't hear a word of what was said but had great concert hall music.
I heard the music but no talking!!! Tried everything in the book and spent an hour with Oppo Tech support with no luck. They had no answer for me.
I'll return it and get a PS3

This is an A-1 player. It arrived well packaged and looks sleek and well manufactured. I hooked up the HDMI to my Sharp Aquos and was playing DVDs within 5 minutes of receipt. It offers complete control of various picture enhancements via the remote. You might pay a little more...but you get a LOT more for your money! I have a lot of files in avi format. Most of them are DivX, but some of them are Xvid. This is a great player to play back those videos. You can make those discs very easily on your computer like making back up discs. At the same time, this player plays back regular DVDs very well too. This guy could play back the discs that didn't work at all in other players. I cannot really tell the 'up-converting' effect, but it has an ability to play back crappy discs.
One thing that I haven't figured out yet is the resolution issue. The avi files collection has so many different types of resolution. I cannot still figure out what the maximum resolution that I can play back in DivX format. It seems like there's some limitation for this.

I bought this player for its upconverting capability and playing various media formats and Oppo has not disappointed me. The picture quality is awesome. The USB feature works great be it my 500 GB hard drive or a 1GB USB flash drive. No reasons for complaints so far.
