I read the reviews of this DVD on Amazon before I purchased it. I also called the Oppo folks to figure out which of their players would work best for my HD widescreen.
This player does not dissapoint. I love the fact that it saves my place if I have to stop watching a DVD. I can come back days later and it picks up right where I left off.
With the inclusion of the HDMI cable, the player isn't any more than other comparable players. It really makes the pictures on my SD DVD's look like HD quality. It is awesome.

This product has style, quality, and performance unparalled to any dvd player i have ever owned. The upconversion is wonderful and is clearly superior to cheaper units by other manefactures. The divx support is also excellent. The support for SACD, DVD audio is also a plus. Plenty of outputs including digital coaxial as well as toslink, as wel as 8 RCA plugs for analog 7.1 channel output.
Well worth the money. If you are spending over a thousand dollars on a HDTV, don't buy a 30 dollar DVD player for walmart!, get a better product that will improve picture quality.

Ordered this player from Amazon and received it in 1 week. For anyone who doesn't want to get a Blu-Ray yet, the Oppo IS the best Upconverted Dvd-player that you can get for around $160. Only a very few more expensive players that can match this player. The picture is sharp, colors are accurately rendered and the sound is just amazing. I don't want to say anything else about this player because whatever i want to say is already been said millions of time on the net.
Bottom line is if you want an Upconverted Dvd player then this is IT.
