Digital camera reviews of Olevia 332H 32-Inch LCD HD Ready Monitor

Digital camera Review: Great price, but just OK
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this as a second TV and found it online for only $509, free ground shipping, no tax. The picture is very good, comprable to other LCD TVs priced much higher, but the sound from the built-in speakers is kind of weak. Plus it doesn't have enough component or hdmi inputs in the back (only one each). Also I am having minor problems with the TV, including a blue bar across the screen on SD channels that goes away when I switch to an HD channel and back again, as well as sound but no picture when I turn it on sometimes. I have to turn it off, then on to get it to work. Overall it was a great bargain, but if you can afford better, buy something else. One more thing, the remote interferes with my DVD player, when I press the volume up key, it turns on the DVD player.

Digital camera Review: Great product at a very low price
Summary: 5 Stars

Thanks for the previous reviews. I agree with the previous reviews. This unit is a steal. I have DirecTV and the tuner would be wasted on my setup. The monitor resolution, setup functionality, color saturation, and response is outstanding even with lower res sources. Great value!

Digital camera Review: Great starter HDTV
Summary: 4 Stars

After having 2 of these TV's for over a month I decided to add my review now that I have burned enough time to give a good enough review of this HDTV model.

I did heavy research on many HDTV's before settling on this one. The contrast ratio and HDTV features beats almost all of the same priced models in retail stores such as best buy, circuity city etc. That said this tv does not have a built-in hd tuner, that really should not dissuade you from this TV because if you have satellite or cable currently and you are looking to go HD cable or satellite then a over-the-air hd tuner is un-needed unless you want to grab over-the-air local hdtv broadcasts but with my hdtv my cable company gives me all the local channels in HD format anyways.

I would recommend this LCD HDTV to anyone even though I had slight problem with 1 of the televisions I ordered, that being minor and not effecting picture quality, the problem was with the power up cycle had to be switched on twice before viewing. Only reason its 4stars instead of a full 5. The other down-side is the new remote code this tv uses, like others have found out most cable company remotes and universal remotes will not work on this TV. Only a learning remote at this time will work. Hopefully that changes in the next year but since I use a surround sound system it doesn't bother me much considering all I need a remote for is to turn it on and I'm set.

Contacting Syntax Olevia support is a breeze, the wait time is next to nothing and you get on the line with someone almost right after asking for a customer service rep. They are polite and very helpful and you don't feel like you are being read text book speech from some tele-company in India looking just to placate you. They have an exchange plan that allows you to get a new one sent to you without returning the defective model to them first which saves on time on both ends.

Digital camera Review: LCD HDTV review
Summary: 4 Stars

We are very pleased with this TV--the clarity and color is great. I noticed the people seemed to be squashed, but I think I can change something on the viewing to remedy that...just have to read the instructions! Great price...I could never afford a $2000-3000 TV, so this is the poor mans substitute!

Digital camera Review: LCD flat panel failed
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought the Olevia LCD because my brother in law recommended it based on price and quality. I liked the picture and ease of use, until the picture went out- black screen. dead, kaput. It worked for about 6 months, and was never moved or mistreated in anyway. Olevia said this was a "unique" case, but when I googled around I found that I sure wasn't the first. They said it would cost $575 to replace the panel b/c I "failed" to purchase an extended warranty. I replaced it alright, replaced it out on the street for garbage pick up. For the record my brother in law's LCD still works, and I'll buy another LCD, but not from Syntax/Olevia. Do your homework, don't trust my brother in law, and get something reliable. If you need further info feel free to respond and I'll provide more details.
