Digital camera Review: Mele Kalikimaka..Got a 532 H code
Summary: 4 Stars

I was able to get the older 532H model, but I wanted the 537H. I was disappointed that Scientific Atlanta HDTV did not have a code for it. Finally sat down today & did the steps they tell u to do to find a code. It came out to be 0500.
We have TimeWarnerCable here in Hawaii. Big difference now to be able to turn on/off both units, control the volume, mute, & change channels.
Aloha & Mele Kalikimaka.

Digital camera Review: Ok but not a Sony
Summary: 3 Stars

The picture is good but doesn't dazzle like a Sony, I guess you get what you pay for.

Digital camera Review: Superb as PC monitor
Summary: 5 Stars

I wear bifocals and had been running a 17" CRT monitor at 640x480 positioned about 4 feet away to allow me to use my distance lens. In a store I saw a 27" Olevia used as a PC monitor and it looked great. Doing the math I found a 32" widescreen HDTV running at its native 768 (vert) resolution would have the same text size as my 17" CRT at 480 (vert), and I would have a lot more on screen. When I found this new model Olevia with great specs on Amazon/TigerDirect for $650, I ordered it Tues night and it was delivered on Fri.

Wow, this is a great PC monitor, bright, sharp, good contrast, and good color. Not only does it run great at its native 1360x768 resolution, but (surprisingly) it's superb at 800x 600 and pretty good too at 640x480 if you need really big text. I am probably going to run it at 8 feet distance at 800x600 or a little closer at 1360x768. All my testing to date has been with VGA from a new, low end PC from Compaq.

The Olevia comes with a remote that makes it easy to change screen setting and brightness. I find at either 800x600 or 1360x768 there is some combination of DVD player setting and Olevia setting so that the movie will fill the screen. The DVD movies from the PC on this monitor look superb. There is no way I can go back to my 17" CRT monitor.

Digital camera Review: What A Deal
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this to hook up to my PS3 and I got it last week. out of the box HD picture quality is excellent, Resistance and NBA 2K7 look amazing. I got a wall mount and mounted in my basement and it's really b!tchin'. We are not going to buy speakers because the ones it has seem to be good no problems there. Had to call tech support once and they were very helpful. I would not hesitate to buy it again.

(UPDATED JAN 08)

After owning this for now almost a year I am still very pleased with. Te only flaw is that the blacks are not very good but that is to be expected from a budget HDTV like. Really though the contrast doesn't matter that much because all I do with it is play PS3/360 and the occasional movie. I have never encountered any motion blur even when playing fast games like Motorstorm or COD4. Only recently I noticed that the tv wasn't configured right, I didn't mess with it at first because the factory setting were good but the sharpness level was set at medium level. So I cranked up the sharpness and other setting and now I am doubly impressed with the picture.

Another quick note the room that this TV is in gets a lot of light and glare has never been a problem.

Bottom line: If you want a HDTV with a good picture for an even better price and then don't overlook this TV.

Digital camera Review: You get what you pay for.
Summary: 1 Stars

I had my 332H for over a year with no issues when the TV shorted out my laptop via the HDMI port. Was told my customer service to try to update the firmware to resolve the issue. TV USB port shorted out my cable and my desktop shut down to ovoid damage. Level two tech support said that I could pay to have the TV fixed (over half the price of the TV) and my laptop, desktop, cables, and personal injury were not covered. With Olevia, you get what you pay for and even an APC will not help if yours goes bad. Wish I would have never bought this TV, will not do business with Olevia or any affiliate ever again.
