Digital camera reviews of Olympus Digital Voice Recorder (VN 6200PC)Digital camera Review: Bought to record Sunday Sermons at Church Summary: 3 Stars
I read a lot of other reviews before settling on this digital recorder. I have a very low budget so I had to be very careful. I needed something that would not pick up a lot of background noise(pages turning, and folks coughing and sniffling during the service) yet record the Pastor's voice clearly. I gave it 5 stars . I sit in the second pew from the front and Pastor has a loud voice even without his mic, but he does use a mic. This recorder does not have great sound quality if you are planning on listening to it directly from the recorder itself, but when you place it on your computer and listen to it from there(if you have good speakers) or burn it to a CD and put the CD into another CD player the sound is crystal. Which is what I wanted. I burn the sermons to CD's. That was the original intention.
The process from recorder>plug into the USB>upload to your computer to a saved file>add to windows media player list>burn to CD
Is so simple a child can do it in less than 3 minutes.
The recorder itself is very simple to use and I keep mine in a hard eyeglass case in my bible case it is so compact.
Digital camera Review: Cheap 5 way switch ruins the product Summary: 1 Stars
Although I've used Olympus voice recorders for years and probably owned 5 or more, I've never found one yet that had all the features I wanted. These include upload sound files to PC, ability to use standard software (not Olympus), small size, good built-in microphone, quality construction, large control buttons.
The VN6200 PC is the only one I ever returned because I found it totally unsatisfactory. The big button is both a push button and a 4 way directional rocker switch. I found it to be so cheaply made that I could not use this button without a great deal of difficulty. When trying to rock upward, I frequently ended pushing the button instead. After spending about 10 minutes just trying to set the clock on the device, I decided to return it.
Digital camera Review: Compact and useful Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to record interviews for my articles, and, so far, it has been working well. Haven't really figured out the system for arranging files and folders (seems a little cryptic), so can't comment on that. Also, I'm not crazy about the "pause" button being the on/off button. However, the sound quality is pretty good, and the recorder is nice and small, and convenient. I don't have any complaints so far (except the file management system, but, once again, I haven't figured that out yet, so maybe it's better than I think).
Digital camera Review: Compact recorder Summary: 4 Stars
I use this recorder for recording ideas while I'm on the road. I like the compactness of it. The instructions were another issue. They were not as clear as they could have been written, but with a bit of brain power, it can be figured out. I wish that there was an indicator of some sort stating whether it is on or off. Hold????
Digital camera Review: Compact, and record almost endlessly. Summary: 4 Stars
This recorder is very compact. I bought it for my daughter for her piano class. It stores a lot. Actually I have never delete the recorded data. It records everything. When you play it, it started with the most recent recording. This is fantastic.
The only problem I have with this unit is that it is not easy to shut off. You have to stop recording, then "hold". There is not a button that you just turn off the power.
