I work in a hospital and we just received this recorder for our taped shift change report. The sound is so bad that we (all of the RN's) can not understand most of what is being said. We have trouble erasing files. From all of the reviews I have read I wonder if we have a faulty recorder. If not, I would not recommend this to anyone.Digital camera Review: Devin Strong

As a court reporter responsible for recording and transcribing legal depositions, I'd been having tech issues with my computer recording software and needed something absolutely stone-dead reliable to use as a back-up recording. A friend recommended this little guy. Since I've been using this, it has saved my butt (and my sanity) more than once already. The sound quality is great...I love how easily I can download files to my computer for transcribing...it's awesome! I highly recommend the Olympus Digital Voice Recorder. It is easy to use and has great sound quality. The 70 hours of recording time goes a long way and the battery doesn't need to be replaced every couple of days. My product came in quickly. It took me a little bit to learn how to use it but maybe because it was so simple, I kept thinking that I couldn't be using it right. I was able to record my father's family stories and all I had to do was push record and sit the recorder down by his side of the table. I didn't turn it off for two hours. When I listened back, it was very clear and I still have like 73 hours remaining....that is on high quality setting so it's exactly what I needed.
