Digital camera Review: Ridiculous camera, ridiculous support

Reading buyer comments from a number of sites, it's clear that TERRIBLE battery life is a common issue. Mine worked well only for <100 shots and a handful of videos. Since then, the "battery has no charge" message displays after one shot. I've had the same results whether I'm using rechargeables or alkalines.
Other issues include a pause between pushing the button and the actual shot, giving somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 seconds waiting time-- enough for most candid shots to be a miss. And Olympus support basicaly said, "It's a low priced camera, and that's all it does."
Awful product, awful support. It's back to canon PowerShots from here on!

Run fast, Run far. This camera doesn't want to operate on any batteries. On FE-310 # 2 so far in two months and the same problem. Tech support advises not to use alkaline batteries(which in fact come with the camera). Told to use NiMH batteries - NADA. Spent about $50 on batteries and chargers. They also gave me "Olympus" rechargeable batteries - still NADA. Sending camera # 2 back to them - hopefully to get a refund.Digital camera Review: This is a great camera!

I bought this camera based on the fact that it's a Olympus, and my other camera is as well. I'm amazed how great the pictures come out. It has lots of options and is user friendly. I agree with others comments about the batteries not lasting long but I just carry extra charged batteries and it only takes a few seconds to change them. I would recommend this camera to my friends and family.Digital camera Review: This is a no-brainer to operate!

I have owned this camera for over a year now. First - wow - what's with the huge price increase? I paid $110 in May of 08 and I couldn't recommend it at that price. It takes beautiful pictures - when it works correctly.
One of the reasons we chose this model was because it used AA batteries available anywhere. 6 months into owning the camera it started draining normal AA batteries after about 6 pictures, sometimes less. We sent it to the service center who kept it for a month, sent it back the week before Christmas claiming it was fixed and as soon as we popped in new batteries it died again. Thank goodness we still had our old Sony for use at Christmas that year. We sent this camera back again and this time they told us it was our fault - we needed to use a more powerful battery. We didn't before, but o.k., I bought the most powerful rechargable AA's I could find and we can usually get a whole day out of them now before they need recharged.
In the last month however it has now started taking only half the picture or worse - not at all. When we download the pictures half the frame or sometimes the entire frame - will be greyed out.
We are in the market for another new digital and will no doubt go back to Sony. I don't trust Olympus anymore.
