These batteries are well worth the price. We've tried regular alkaline batteries and rechargables, and both will lose power very quickly after only one or two photo sessions, resulting in slow response. These lithium batteries hold a strong charge for months at a time, and never seem to give slow response even as the charge starts to drop.Digital camera Review: Better than Everything else

Did the alkaline, ran through batteries like no tomorrow! Tried the rechargeables, they run out of juice over three or four recharges. Bought the Olympus C740 with these babies in them and used it for over 400 pictures, plus review/preview and deletions for FOUR MONTHS. Took the camera on a six day cruise and took over 200 pictures with no problem.They are expensive (so four stars instead of 5)but after you mistakenly throw out your first set of rechargeable batteries, or find that they (eventually) have no more power than standard alkalines, you will regret not having spent the money on the Lithium technology.

Maybe some of the lesser cameras in the olympus line drain these at an acceptable rate, but the power intensive E10 and E20 will tear through them in a few sittings, worse if you use the flash (less than 100 pictures). While you won't change batteries as much as with alkalines which will last you maybe 10 pictures with the flash, these cost proportionally more, and you will soon find all your friends buying stock in battery companies. Do yourself and the environment a favor and buy a good set of rechargeable NiMH batteries and a charger. While these lithium batteries may have lasted twice as long as the early NiMH batteries, that is no longer the case as NiMH batteries have improved by about 30% in the last two years. It costs pennies to recharge the NiMH batteries and they do not have memory, so they will last for years.Digital camera Review: Excellent Value!

I received an Olympus C-720 digital camera for Christmas and it came with these batteries. Since December, I have taken close to a thousand pictures-- including alot of zooming and unzooming and focussing, etc. This included an 8 day trip to Disney World in January. The batteries finally died on June 10.I replaced the batteries with 4 "normal" AA batteries and they have already died-- after a couple dozen pictures.
When I started looking for the CR-V3 type batteries, I expected them to be very expensive. Given the longevity, I find under $13 per battery to be very reasonable.
